The great beer festival of Sasso Marconi, between Bavarian spirit and Emilian cuisine
In the heart of summer, Parco Marconi in Sasso Marconi, in the province of Bologna, hosts one of the most beloved beer festivals in the Bolognese Apennines: ATuttaBirra — SassoFest. For four consecutive evenings, the park on Viale Kennedy fills with tables, the aroma of grilled food, and music to dance to, in an atmosphere reminiscent of Bavarian Oktoberfests but with warm Emilian hospitality.
SassoFest is not just a festival for young people: it is an event designed for the family, where evening entertainment and the convivial atmosphere of a large village gathering coexist. The event has always combined a passion for good beer with a strong social commitment, with initiatives promoting responsible drinking and non-alcoholic options for drivers.
The serving counter is the heart of the festival: selected German labels such as Augustiner Hell and Paulaner (Münchner Hell, Hefe Weizen, Märzen) flow from the taps, alongside Italian beers like Ichnusa Non Filtrata. A selection ranging from classic Bavarian lagers to wheat weizens, to satisfy both enthusiasts and the curious.
Two culinary traditions blend here. On one hand, the German tradition with spatzle with cream and speck, pork knuckle, wurstel, sauerkraut, pretzels, and French fries. On the other, the Emilian taste with gramigna with sausage and grilled sausage. A combination that makes ATuttaBirra a delicious as well as festive stop.
Every evening, the stage features musical performances and tribute bands that liven up the dance floor until late at night, with a different program each evening. Entertainment is provided by Joe Galli, with live broadcasts from Radio Venere as the festival's soundtrack.
Reaching its 30th edition in 2026, ATuttaBirra is now an summer classic in Sasso Marconi and the entire metropolitan area of Bologna, in Emilia-Romagna. An event that attracts visitors from all over the province and neighboring towns, also thanks to its convenient location along the Reno valley.
