Wine tastings, flavors, and diffused music among the villages of the Bologna Apennines
Borghi diVini is the traveling summer festival that enlivens the villages and hamlets of the Bologna Apennines with local wine tastings, food and wine, encounters, and diffused music. For the 2026 edition, the calendar includes thirteen evenings spread between June and September across six municipalities, and San Benedetto Val di Sambro, in the Metropolitan City of Bologna (Emilia-Romagna), is confirmed as one of the featured locations on the circuit.
The municipality of San Benedetto Val di Sambro has participated in the festival for several editions, hosting multiple evenings in its ridge-top hamlets. In recent editions, events have taken place in villages such as Pian del Voglio, Qualto, and the hamlet of Musolesi: small Apennine centers that, for one evening, transform into a tasting journey through their most characteristic streets and views. As with all stops in the format, the evenings take place on Fridays or Saturdays from 6 PM until late at night, with free admission and no reservation.
Each event features tasting points set up in the squares and streets of the village, offering wines from local producers and wine shops, traditional Apennine dishes, and diffused musical accompaniment. The philosophy of Borghi diVini is to rediscover the authentic villages of the Bologna Apennines by combining the pleasure of a glass of wine with the enhancement of the landscape and local communities, in convivial, village-scale evenings.
The 2026 edition involves six municipalities in the upper and middle Savena and Setta valleys: in addition to San Benedetto Val di Sambro, the circuit includes Monghidoro (new entry hosting the opening evening on June 20), Castiglione dei Pepoli, Monzuno, Pianoro, and Loiano, with various locations involved in each municipality.
The event is organized by the cooperative Foiatonda, with the support of Confcommercio Ascom Bologna, Bologna Welcome, and local partners, in collaboration with municipalities and local associations. The goal is to promote the food and wine culture and hospitality of the Bologna Apennines, creating a summer rich in events spread throughout the mountain villages.
