A night of flavors under the Bucchianico sky

Sapori di Stelle is one of the most original summer events in the town of Bucchianico, in the province of Chieti, in the heart of the Marrucino Abruzzo region. The concept is as simple as it is poetic: spread a blanket on the grass, open a basket of local delicacies, and dine outdoors while the sky lights up with stars. The setting is Colle Sant'Eleuterio, in the Colle Spaccato district, a vantage point that overlooks the Abruzzo hills and offers one of the clearest skies in the area.

Taste, music, and stargazing

The formula that made the event famous weaves together three ingredients. The first is gastronomy: picnic baskets are filled with local products, from sandwiches with cured meats and frittatas to fried pizzas, artisanal ice cream, cocktails, and desserts. The second is live music, which accompanies every evening with bands, DJ sets, and singer-songwriter performances. The third, which gives the event its name, is astronomical observation: enthusiasts and amateur astronomers guide the public in observing the night sky through telescopes, sharing stories about planets, constellations, and shooting stars during one of the most evocative weeks of the year to look up.

A Pro Loco event for the community

Sapori di Stelle is conceived and organized by the Pro Loco San Camillo De Lellis of Bucchianico APS, a historic local association dedicated to promoting the natural, cultural, and food-and-wine heritage of the Marrucino area. Launched in 2023, the event has quickly established itself as one of the most beloved summer evenings on the local calendar, attracting families, young people, and curious visitors from across the Chieti province. Participation is by reservation, with baskets designed for both adults and children and a reduced evening entry fee for those arriving late at night.

Bucchianico, between tradition and hilly landscapes

Bucchianico is an Abruzzo village known throughout the region for the Banderesi, its famous traditional festival, and for being the birthplace of Saint Camillus de Lellis. Experiencing Sapori di Stelle also means discovering this corner of the Abruzzo hills, just a few kilometers from Chieti, on a night where good food meets the celestial vault.
