The beer festival of San Benigno Canavese, featuring live music and street food
The SanBeer Festival is one of the most anticipated summer events in San Benigno Canavese, a municipality in the Metropolitan City of Turin, Piedmont. Born in 2023 from the collaboration of local merchants, with the support of the Alpini Group and the municipal administration, the event immediately won over thousands of visitors, becoming a staple in the Canavese regional calendar.
The formula is simple and successful: beer, food, and live music. Piazzale Sandro Pertini, in the heart of the town, hosts the beer taps, food stalls, and the stage. Visitors can enjoy a variety of beers paired with dishes designed for the festival: from classic grilled meats to fish, pizza, and fried dough (gnocco fritto), to more indulgent treats like Nutella crêpes. Past editions have even featured the famous beer-flavored gelato, one of the public's favorite curiosities.
Each evening is marked by live concerts and DJ sets that keep the square buzzing until late at night. In the early editions, local bands and artists took to the stage, while tournaments and games (from foosball to inflatables for children) made the festival a gathering place for all ages. The atmosphere is that of an authentic Piedmontese village festival, where conviviality and a sense of community are just as central as the beer itself.
The SanBeer Festival offers free admission: you only pay for what you consume at the stands. This makes it a perfect opportunity to spend an evening with friends while discovering San Benigno Canavese, a town also known for its historic Abbazia di Fruttuaria. The event is organized by the Municipal Commerce Office and represents a great example of a grassroots initiative driven by merchants wanting to enliven the town center during the summer season.
Located just a few kilometers from Turin, San Benigno Canavese is the gateway to the Canavese, a land of castles, rolling hills, and culinary traditions. Attending the SanBeer Festival is also a great way to explore this corner of Piedmont, its specialties, and the warm hospitality of its residents.
The third edition of the SanBeer Festival was held in San Benigno Canavese from Friday, June 12 to Sunday, June 14, 2026, at Piazzale Sandro Pertini. The event, organized by the Municipal Commerce Office, confirmed the "Beer - Food - Live Music" formula: various beer styles, a rich gastronomic area, and live music with free admission.
The opening was scheduled for Friday, June 12 at 7:00 PM, with evenings continuing until late at night. Food options included grilled meats, pizza, fish, crêpes, and the essential local beer, while the stage hosted concerts and DJ sets throughout the evenings.
San Benigno Canavese can be reached by car via the A5 Turin-Aosta motorway (exit Volpiano-San Benigno) or the SP460 road. By train, the Rivarolo Canavese station and the Turin metropolitan network serve the area. The event takes place in Piazzale Sandro Pertini, in the town center.
Admission is free. Evenings generally start at 7:00 PM and continue until late at night. It is recommended to check the updated schedule on the official municipal website and the event's social media channels.
