The neighborhood feast of the San Vito parish in Grumo Nevano
The San Vito Festival is the popular event that gathers the community of the San Vito parish in Grumo Nevano, a town in the Metropolitan City of Naples, Campania, every year. Integrated into the calendar of celebrations in honor of the patron saint, the festival combines the religious dimension with a convivial atmosphere, transforming the church square and surrounding spaces into a meeting place for families, young people, and local volunteers.
More than just a major event, the San Vito Festival is a neighborhood celebration, deeply felt and eagerly awaited by the faithful. As parish priest Father Edoardo Capuano has noted, the event stems from the community's desire to gather around the figure of the beloved saint in the family-like, neighborhood atmosphere that defines the parish. The participation of young people and volunteers, who handle organization and hospitality, is an integral part of the festival's identity.
The heart of the evening is the tasting of traditional products, to be enjoyed in good company under the festival lights. The table becomes an opportunity for exchange and mutual joy, in the best tradition of Campanian festivals, where food serves as a language of hospitality and belonging. It is a moment where generations meet and the sense of community is renewed.
Saint Vitus, a martyr venerated throughout Southern Italy, is a key identity reference for Grumo Nevano. The festivities dedicated to him, featuring a solemn procession and liturgical celebrations, represent the most important time of the year for many faithful. The festival fits into this context of popular devotion, extending the spirit of the patronal feast in a convivial way.
Organized by the San Vito parish with its volunteers, the festival is an authentic expression of community life in Grumo Nevano. It is not a massive festival, but a local evening capable of telling the story of a neighborhood's soul, its bond with traditions, and the desire to be together that animates this corner of the Neapolitan province.
After being eagerly awaited by the community, the San Vito Festival returned to Grumo Nevano on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 7:30 PM, at the San Vito parish. The invitation was extended to the faithful by parish priest Father Edoardo Capuano, who emphasized the family and neighborhood spirit of the celebration. The evening, enlivened by the parish's young people and volunteers, offered traditional products to be shared in an atmosphere of joy and community.
