The Arzano City Feast in honor of its Patron Saint, November 9th
The Saint Agrippinus Patronal Feast is the most cherished event in the civil and religious calendar of Arzano, a municipality in the metropolitan city of Naples, Campania. Celebrated every year on November 9th, the day dedicated to the Patron Saint, it is not just a liturgical recurrence but a true moment of identity: for the people of Arzano, it is experienced as the "City Feast," an occasion where the entire community gathers around the figure of Saint Agrippinus, an ancient bishop of Naples venerated as a protector.
The festivities are traditionally divided into four days that precede and culminate on the Patron's day. The devotional program includes:
The heart of the celebrations is the Church of Saint Agrippinus, in Piazza Raffaele Cimmino, where religious services are concentrated. There is no shortage of moments dedicated to the little ones, with games and entertainment in the square designed to involve children and families, so that the feast unites the spiritual dimension with the popular and convivial one. The procession, accompanied by the warmth of the faithful, represents the most evocative moment, when the bond between the community and its protector becomes visible along the streets of the center.
Saint Agrippinus was among the first bishops of Naples and is counted among the patron saints of the Neapolitan city. In Arzano, his devotion has ancient roots: the choice of November 9th as the feast day links the town to the Neapolitan religious tradition and makes it a major event for the entire territory. The feast is promoted by the parish community with the support of the Municipality of Arzano.
Located at the gates of Naples, Arzano experiences a true transformation during these days: the streets come alive, families reunite, and many Arzano natives living far away return to ensure they do not miss the appointment with the Patron Saint. The Feast of Saint Agrippinus thus remains one of the moments in which the identity of the city in the province of Naples is expressed with the greatest intensity, amidst faith, popular traditions, and a sense of belonging.
The Saint Agrippinus Patronal Feast returns in 2026 to Arzano, a municipality in the province of Naples, Campania, with the usual appointment set for November 9th. As per tradition, the festivities take place over four days, combining the liturgical dimension with the community aspect of the "City Feast."
The calendar includes the Saint Agrippinus Choir concert, the prayer for the City, the procession of the Patron Saint along the city streets, and, on the day of the feast, Holy Masses and the solemn Eucharistic concelebration at the Church of Saint Agrippinus. The complete program, with times and details, will be released through the official channels of the parish and the Municipality of Arzano in the weeks preceding the event.
The celebrations are held at the Church of Saint Agrippinus, Piazza Raffaele Cimmino 2, 80022 Arzano (NA), and along the streets of the city center during the procession.
Arzano is located immediately north of Naples. By car, it can be reached via the Asse Mediano and the Naples Tangenziale (exits towards Arzano and Casoria). By public transport, the city is connected to Naples by bus and suburban lines; Naples-Capodichino airport is a few kilometers away.
Participation in all celebrations is free and open to everyone.
