About San Lorenzo Festival

Every year, around August 10th, Pinzolo celebrates its patron saint with the San Lorenzo Festival, organized by the local parish. A week of events blending faith and community: solemn mass, vespers with the procession of the statue of San Lorenzo, concerts in the church and in Piazza Carera, ballroom dancing, the municipal band, the charity 'Vaso della Fortuna' raffle, and the lottery. A deeply felt tradition in the heart of the Brenta Dolomites, combining spirituality, music, and village conviviality.

The patron saint feast of Pinzolo

The San Lorenzo Festival is the feast of the patron saint of Pinzolo, a town in Val Rendena in the province of Trento, in the heart of the Trentino-Alto Adige region. Organized by the Parish of Pinzolo, it takes place every year around August 10th, the liturgical day of Saint Lawrence, transforming the village into a meeting place where religious and community dimensions blend naturally.

A week between church and square

The festival is not limited to a single day: it spans a week of events that alternate moments of reflection in the church with open-air evenings in Piazza Carera, the beating heart of the event. Alongside cultural and spiritual meetings hosted at the Paladolomiti, there are sacred concerts, ballroom dancing with an orchestra, performances by the municipal band, and traditional charity games.

The religious heart of the festival

The central moment is the day of San Lorenzo: the solemn mass in the morning and, in the evening, the solemn vespers followed by the procession with the statue of the saint through the streets of the town. It is the strongest sign of the identity of a mountain community that, for generations, has recognized itself in its patron saint and renews his memory with great participation.

Music, conviviality, and traditions

On the more festive side, the festival offers concerts in the church (from choirs to organ and clarinet music), ballroom dancing in the square, and the concert of the Pinzolo Municipal Band. There is no shortage of charity initiatives that have always marked the event: the Vaso della Fortuna, a raffle where every ticket is a winner, the lottery with the final prize draw, and the curious game of guessing the weight of wood and speck, where participants guess weights to win local products.

In the heart of the Brenta Dolomites

At the foot of the Brenta Dolomites and the Adamello, Pinzolo is one of the most well-known locations in Val Rendena, appreciated in summer for hiking and in winter for its ski slopes. Experiencing the San Lorenzo Festival means discovering the authentic, village side of the town, far from tourist rhythms, in one of the most identity-defining occasions of the year.

San Lorenzo Festival — edition 2026

The San Lorenzo Festival will return to Pinzolo in the summer of 2026 to celebrate the patron saint around August 10th, as per tradition. At the moment, the exact dates and the detailed program for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced by the Parish of Pinzolo. Following previous editions, a solemn mass, vespers with the procession, sacred concerts, ballroom dancing in Piazza Carera, and charity games are expected.

The 2026 edition of the San Lorenzo Festival in Pinzolo does not yet have an official program: the exact dates and the calendar of events will be communicated by the Parish of Pinzolo in the weeks leading up to the feast. As every year, the celebrations are expected in the days around August 10th, the day of Saint Lawrence. It is advisable to check for updates on local channels before planning your visit.
