The patron saint feast of Pinzolo, in Val Rendena, around August 10th
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The San Lorenzo Festival is the feast of the patron saint of Pinzolo, a town in Val Rendena in the province of Trento, in the heart of the Trentino-Alto Adige region. Organized by the Parish of Pinzolo, it takes place every year around August 10th, the liturgical day of Saint Lawrence, transforming the village into a meeting place where religious and community dimensions blend naturally.
The festival is not limited to a single day: it spans a week of events that alternate moments of reflection in the church with open-air evenings in Piazza Carera, the beating heart of the event. Alongside cultural and spiritual meetings hosted at the Paladolomiti, there are sacred concerts, ballroom dancing with an orchestra, performances by the municipal band, and traditional charity games.
The central moment is the day of San Lorenzo: the solemn mass in the morning and, in the evening, the solemn vespers followed by the procession with the statue of the saint through the streets of the town. It is the strongest sign of the identity of a mountain community that, for generations, has recognized itself in its patron saint and renews his memory with great participation.
On the more festive side, the festival offers concerts in the church (from choirs to organ and clarinet music), ballroom dancing in the square, and the concert of the Pinzolo Municipal Band. There is no shortage of charity initiatives that have always marked the event: the Vaso della Fortuna, a raffle where every ticket is a winner, the lottery with the final prize draw, and the curious game of guessing the weight of wood and speck, where participants guess weights to win local products.
At the foot of the Brenta Dolomites and the Adamello, Pinzolo is one of the most well-known locations in Val Rendena, appreciated in summer for hiking and in winter for its ski slopes. Experiencing the San Lorenzo Festival means discovering the authentic, village side of the town, far from tourist rhythms, in one of the most identity-defining occasions of the year.
The 2026 edition of the San Lorenzo Festival in Pinzolo does not yet have an official program: the exact dates and the calendar of events will be communicated by the Parish of Pinzolo in the weeks leading up to the feast. As every year, the celebrations are expected in the days around August 10th, the day of Saint Lawrence. It is advisable to check for updates on local channels before planning your visit.
The events take place between the Church of San Lorenzo, Piazza Carera, and the Paladolomiti, in the center of Pinzolo (Val Rendena, province of Trento).
By car: Pinzolo can be reached via the SS239 of Val Rendena, taking the A22 Brennero motorway exit at San Michele all'Adige or Trento Nord. By train: reach Trento station, then take the Trentino Trasporti buses towards Val Rendena.
Religious events and concerts are free to attend. Charity games (Vaso della Fortuna, lottery, weight guessing) have a symbolic cost of 1 euro per ticket or turn.
Program and updates are available on the local portal 'Campane di Pinzolo' and at the Parish of Pinzolo.
