About San Giustino Carnival

The San Giustino Carnival, in the Upper Tevere Valley (Perugia), is a widespread festival involving the entire municipal territory and its hamlets: Lama, Dogana, the center of San Giustino, and Selci. For several days, between mid and late February, schools, families, children, and local associations liven up streets and venues with masks, parades, games, and festive moments. A community carnival, promoted by the Municipality together with local associations, that enhances the territory and village traditions.

A Carnival for the Entire Territory

The San Giustino Carnival, a municipality in the Upper Tevere Valley in the province of Perugia, is not a single parade but a true widespread festival: events multiply across the different hamlets of the territory, from Lama to Dogana, from the center of San Giustino to Selci. Each village experiences its own moment, in a calendar that spans the Carnival days.

Masks, Schools, and Families

The main protagonists of the festival are the youngest ones: festive schools, parades in costume, and afternoons dedicated to families and children with the involvement of after-school programs and local community centers. The village streets fill with confetti, costumes, and entertainment, while multipurpose venues host parties with music and fun.

A Community Tradition

As highlighted by the municipal administration, the Carnival represents for San Giustino not only a deep-rooted tradition but also an opportunity to enhance the territory and strengthen community ties. The event is promoted by the Municipality of San Giustino in support of the events organized by numerous local associations, the true protagonists of the animation in the hamlets.

San Giustino Carnival — edition 2026

The 2026 San Giustino Carnival took place from February 12 to 17, spread across the municipality's hamlets. From the school party in Lama to masked parades in the streets, from the family party in the center of San Giustino to the grand finale at the Selci multipurpose venue, six days of entertainment, games, and masks promoted by the Municipality with local associations.

The 2026 edition of the San Giustino Carnival (February 12-17) confirmed its nature as a widespread festival in the hamlets. It opened on Thursday the 12th with school celebrations in Lama and masked games in Dogana, continued on Saturday the 14th with masked parades through the streets of Lama, Sunday the 15th with a party for families and children in the center of San Giustino, and concluded on Tuesday the 17th in Selci, at the multipurpose venue, with music, entertainment, and fun. Local associations and community centers, from the Gimogiù after-school program to San Filippo and the CVA, were the protagonists.
