The historic end-of-winter fair in Percoto, featuring engines, tradition, and Friulian cuisine
In Percoto, a hamlet of Pavia di Udine, the San Giuseppe Fair has marked for generations the moment when "winter is officially behind us". With its first edition dating back to 1896 and 130 years of history, it is one of the most deeply rooted events in Friuli: in 2026 it reaches its 74th edition, spread over three consecutive weekends between late February and mid-March. The heart of the festival is Villa Caiselli, with its heated tents and outdoor areas hosting concerts, gatherings, competitions, and activities for all ages.
The fair is famous for its automotive spirit. The Sunday of the first weekend is dedicated to Percoto in Moto, the motorcycle rally that hosts the Roberto Tami Memorial, in memory of a pillar of the event and a passionate motorcyclist: a tour that takes participants to stop at the best farms in the area, with tastings of wine, craft beer, cheeses, and cured meats. A second Sunday is dedicated to the "Spring Festival", with Vespa, Lambretta, Ape, historic cars, and a carriage parade.
The stands offer the best of Friulian fairground cuisine: pasta and gnocchi, calamari, grilled meats, hot ham, frico in the square, giant mortadella, and the unmissable toc in braide, accompanied by a well-stocked wine bar. There is also the traditional charity raffle, while evenings are spent with card games, orchestras, DJ sets, and solidarity village dinners.
Organized by the Pro Loco of Percoto, the San Giuseppe Fair is much more than a local festival: it is the great collective ritual that for over a century has brought together the village and the many engine enthusiasts, capable of attracting over 7,000 visitors on peak days.
From February 28 to March 15, 2026, the 74th San Giuseppe Fair returns to Percoto, 130 years after its first edition in 1896. Three consecutive weekends at Villa Caiselli, with heated tents and outdoor areas, featuring concerts, motorcycle rallies, vintage car and motorcycle gatherings, card game tournaments, village dinners, and the traditional charity raffle, all accompanied by Friulian fairground cuisine.
