Flowers, flavors, and culture in the heart of the Pinerolo area
The San Giuseppe Fair is one of the most anticipated spring events in San Secondo di Pinerolo, a small municipality in the Metropolitan City of Turin nestled in the hills of the Pinerolo area, in Piedmont. Accompanied by the Floriculture Exhibition, which reached its twenty-fourth edition in 2026, the event is sponsored by the Metropolitan City of Turin and is well-known among gardening enthusiasts for the presence of qualified industry professionals.
The heart of the exhibition consists of stalls from nurseries and floriculturists, displaying plants, flowers, and gardening products along the streets and squares of the town center. The display is complemented by an artisan market organized by the Pro Loco and various commercial stands, transforming the town into a large open-air meeting space. The main days, traditionally the Sunday and Monday closest to the feast of Saint Joseph, attract visitors from across the Pinerolo region.
The festival is also a celebration of local flavors and social life. In Piazza XVII Febbraio, traditional apple fritters are prepared by the Pro Loco and the "Friggi friggi" association, while the multi-purpose hall on Via Roma hosts a lunch featuring polenta and stew or "polenta concia" (by reservation). Among the most popular initiatives are the Vespa Piaggio rally, with a scenic tour of the countryside and an aperitif, and family-friendly board games in Piazza Tonello, hosted by the Dice&Swords association.
The fair is more than just a market: in the days leading up to and following the event, San Secondo di Pinerolo hosts a dense calendar of cultural evenings, conferences, book presentations, photo exhibitions, and concerts. These range from meetings on sustainable tourism and agricultural landscapes to literary presentations in the Council Chamber, the Bandemia orchestra concert at the Waldensian Temple, and exhibitions dedicated to photography and creative crafts by Unitre. The nearby historic Castello di Miradolo enriches the program with its own exhibition events.
Included in the calendar of Piedmontese festivals and fairs, the San Giuseppe Fair represents a defining moment for the community of San Secondo di Pinerolo and the entire foothill territory. Blending nature, culture, rural tradition, and a passion for flowers, the event offers residents and visitors an authentic day celebrating the Piedmontese spring.
San Secondo di Pinerolo can be reached by car from the SP23 in just a few minutes from Pinerolo. By train, the reference station is Pinerolo on the Turin-Pinerolo line, from which you can continue with local connections.
