A district festival in the heart of the Costa dei Trabocchi

The San Giacomo Festival is the summer highlight of the San Giacomo district in the municipality of Rocca San Giovanni, in the province of Chieti, Abruzzo. Dedicated to Saint James the Apostle, whose liturgical feast day falls on July 25th, the festival keeps a local tradition alive that weaves together religious devotion and community social life, as is the custom in many small Abruzzo towns during the summer season.

The San Giacomo Festival is one of the events featured in the Estate Roccolana, the summer program promoted by the Municipality of Rocca San Giovanni. Between July and August, it offers concerts, theatrical performances, open-air cinema, food and wine festivals, and the historic 'Rocca San Giovanni Jazz' event. The district festival thus becomes part of a widespread program that highlights the various hamlets of the municipal territory.
