The patronal feast of the Buccieri district in Cepagatti, blending devotion with live music evenings.
Every summer, the Buccieri district, one of the nuclei making up the territory of the Municipality of Cepagatti, in the province of Pescara, gathers for the San Francesco Festival. It is one of the many patronal feasts that dot the Abruzzo countryside during the summer season: a time when religious devotion blends with the desire to be together, to meet in the square after the hard work of summer, and to renew the bond with the town's roots.
The festival spans three days, during which religious rites in honor of the patron saint alternate with open-air entertainment. Each evening, starting at 9:00 PM, the district lights up with live music: concerts, local bands, and performances that turn the square into a meeting point for families, young people, and visitors from the nearby districts of Cepagatti.
The atmosphere is typical of Abruzzo village festivals: lights, food stalls with traditional products, chatting with neighbors, and music that accompanies the evening until late. There is also the most heartfelt moment, dedicated to the figure of Saint Francis, which gives meaning and continuity to a ritual passed down from generation to generation.
The San Francesco Festival in Buccieri is an integral part of the Cepagatti Estate program, a series of events that the Municipality hosts every year across its various districts and hamlets. A model of a "distributed" festival that brings music, tradition, and conviviality to the various inhabited centers of the municipal territory, enhancing each district with its own event.
Located in the Pescara hinterland, a short distance from the Adriatic coast, Cepagatti maintains a strong bond with its traditions. The San Francesco Festival in Buccieri perfectly represents this spirit: not a major tourist event, but a true festival, rooted in the community, where you can breathe the genuine hospitality of Abruzzo and the warmth of its small district communities.
The San Francesco Festival in Buccieri returns in 2026 from July 10 to 12, as part of the official Cepagatti Estate 2026 calendar. The three evenings offer live music starting at 9:00 PM, with the district square becoming the heart of the celebrations in honor of the patron saint.
Among the announced events, the Codice Rock concert stands out, scheduled for July 12 in Buccieri, bringing live rock to close the festival. Alongside the musical moments, the festival maintains its devotional and convivial character, with the participation of residents from the district and the nearby villages of Cepagatti.
The Buccieri district is located in the territory of the Municipality of Cepagatti (PE). By car, it can be reached from the A25 motorway (Pescara-Villanova exit) or the A14, then continuing towards the Pescara hinterland. The nearest train station is Cepagatti-Villanova, on the Adriatic line.
Access to the evenings is free. During the festival, food stalls with traditional Abruzzo specialties are generally set up. It is advisable to check the dates and updated program with the Cepagatti Festival Committee or the Municipality of Cepagatti.
