About Saint Joseph Fair

Every year, around March 19th, Trento transforms for the Saint Joseph Fair, the largest popular event in the region: hundreds of stalls fill the streets and squares of the historic center, while the historic Agriculture Exhibition takes place at Trento Expo, accompanied by the Bio.logicA festival dedicated to organic farming and sustainability. A weekend that combines markets, gastronomy, farm animals, and family activities.

A tradition that ignites spring in Trento

The Saint Joseph Fair is the most anticipated spring event in the capital of Trentino-Alto Adige. Tied to the feast of the patron saint of carpenters, which falls on March 19th, the fair brings the Municipality of Trento to life every year, attracting tens of thousands of visitors from across the Autonomous Province of Trento and the surrounding valleys. With approximately 500 stalls spread across Piazza Fiera, Piazza Dante, and the streets of the historic center, it is considered the largest popular event in the region.

Market, crafts, and local flavors

For an entire weekend, the streets of Trento are filled with stalls offering clothing, gifts, handicrafts, sweets, and local products. There is no shortage of food stands featuring Trentino specialties and spaces reserved for volunteer associations. It is a perfect opportunity to stroll through the center, go shopping, and soak up the atmosphere of a city festival deeply rooted in the habits of the local people.

The Agriculture Exhibition at Trento Expo

In parallel with the fair, the Trento Expo pavilions at Via Briamasco 2 host the historic Agriculture Exhibition, which has now surpassed seventy editions. Covering approximately 10,000 square meters of indoor and outdoor space, it hosts over one hundred exhibitors from the agricultural, food, and livestock sectors: producers, agricultural and gardening machinery and equipment, medicinal and aromatic plants, artisanal products, and food stands. The livestock area is particularly popular, featuring cows, donkeys, horses, goats, sheep, chickens, and rabbits selected by the Provincial Breeders Federation.

Bio.logicA: the future of food and the territory

Alongside the exhibition is Bio.logicA, the festival dedicated to organic and sustainable agriculture promoted by CIA - Agricoltori Italiani del Trentino together with Donne in Campo and AGIA. With conferences, meetings, tastings, and workshops held throughout the city, Bio.logicA offers an annual reflection on the relationship between food, community, and the Trentino territory.

An event for the whole family

The event is also designed for children, with experiential workshops on vegetable gardens, bees, and farm animals, treasure hunts, cooking classes, and educational activities. The combination of market, agriculture, and popular culture makes the Saint Joseph Fair a defining moment for Trento and the entire Trentino region.
