The patronal feast of Moimacco, two weekends of celebration in the Cividale area
There are feasts that are the beating heart of a community, and the Festa di San Giovanni in Moimacco is one of them. For two weekends in June, this village in the Cividale area transforms: the food stalls light up, the evenings fill with music, and the entire village comes together around the patronal feast. The organization is handled by Pro Moimacco, which has been meticulously taking care of every detail for years with the dedication typical of Friulian pro loco associations.
The heart of the feast is the food: typical local dishes served on ceramic tableware and steel cutlery, with a focus on sustainability, across several food stalls. There's also a good selection of craft beers and, of course, local wine. Every evening, the stage hosts dancing nights featuring DJ sets and live music, because the dancing goes on late here.
The most distinctive feature of the Festa di San Giovanni are the sports tournaments that liven up the two weekends: the eight hamlets of the municipality compete in five-a-side football and other disciplines, in a friendly competition that fuels local pride and participation from all ages. It's Moimacco's way of keeping the community alive while having fun.
Moimacco is located on the plains, a few kilometers from Cividale del Friuli, a Lombard jewel and UNESCO World Heritage site. A perfect location for those who want to combine the authenticity of a village feast with a day exploring the beauties of the Cividale area and the great wines of the Colli Orientali del Friuli.
The 2026 edition of the Festa di San Giovanni has been confirmed by Pro Moimacco for two weekends in June: June 12-13-14 and June 19-20-21. Six evenings of celebration that will liven up Moimacco with typical cuisine, music, and sports.
As every year, the feast combines food stalls with dancing evenings and tournaments featuring the eight hamlets of the village.
The feast is spread over two weekends, June 12-13-14 and June 19-20-21, 2026. The detailed program with times and musical lineup will be published by Pro Moimacco on their website and social media channels. Based on previous editions, each evening includes:
