The patronal feast of Vignola-Falesina in honor of Saint Bartholomew, blending tradition, local cuisine, and community spirit.
The Sagra di San Bortol is the patronal feast of the municipality of Vignola-Falesina, located in the province of Trento in the heart of the Trentino-Alto Adige region. "San Bortol" is the local Trentino dialect name for Saint Bartholomew, the village's patron saint, whose liturgical feast day falls on August 24th. Around this date, the small community gathers for a celebration that combines devotion, tradition, and conviviality.
Vignola-Falesina is a small, dispersed municipality with its administrative seat in the village of Vignola. Nestled on the southwestern slopes of Monte Corno in the Alta Valsugana area, it lies not far from the Val dei Mòcheni and is just a short distance from Lake Caldonazzo. In an alpine setting of only a few hundred inhabitants, the patronal feast is one of the most cherished events of the year—an occasion where residents, vacationers, and visitors from neighboring towns meet to renew their bond with the territory.
For two days, the village of Vignola comes alive with food stalls offering traditional Trentino dishes, live music, and various forms of entertainment designed for all ages: from children and families to the young and the elderly. Admission to the festival is free, and the atmosphere is that of a typical village fair—simple, warm, and welcoming.
One of the most anticipated events is the raffle organized by the Pro Loco Vignola Falesina. The drawing traditionally takes place at the village's municipal parking lot and serves as the highlight of the festival, with prizes awarded to support local community initiatives.
The Sagra di San Bortol is much more than just a local fair: it is how Vignola-Falesina preserves its identity and roots. In a small mountain town, the patronal feast acts as the glue that holds the population together—an appointment renewed year after year thanks to the commitment of the Municipality of Vignola-Falesina and the Pro Loco, the true engines of the village's social life.
The 2026 edition of the Sagra di San Bortol, the patronal feast of Saint Bartholomew in Vignola-Falesina, is officially confirmed. Under act no. 121 of April 24, 2026, the municipality has authorized the raffle organized by the Pro Loco Vignola Falesina, with the drawing set for August 30, 2026, at the village's municipal parking lot.
As per tradition, the festival will feature food stalls, entertainment for all ages, and the customary community gatherings. The full program with times and activities will be published by the Municipality of Vignola-Falesina closer to the event date.
The festival takes place in the village of Vignola, the seat of the Municipality of Vignola-Falesina (TN), in Alta Valsugana.
