The Sagra di San Cristoforo celebrates the patron saint of motorists and travellers, a figure particularly beloved in popular tradition. The festival takes place in the San Cristoforo district of Milan (Province of Milan, Lombardy), on the picturesque Alzaia Naviglio Grande, next to the ancient church that gives the area its name, one of the most characteristic spots of the Navigli district.

Along the Alzaia Naviglio Grande, between the church and the canal water, the festival offers an opportunity to experience one of Milan's most beloved corners in a community atmosphere.

An ancient church on the Naviglio

The setting for the sagra is the church of San Cristoforo sul Naviglio, one of the oldest and most picturesque monuments in the Navigli area: actually a complex formed by two adjoining chapels, of medieval origin, which are reflected in the waters of the Naviglio Grande. It is precisely this link between the water, Milan's historic waterway, and the patron saint of travellers that gives the festival a special meaning, rooted in the history of the district and the city.
