The last Sunday of the month, antiques invade two kilometers of Naviglio
The Mercatone dell'Antiquariato sul Naviglio Grande is one of Milan's most beloved and long-standing events (Municipality of Milan, Metropolitan City of Milan, Lombardy). On the last Sunday of every month, the first stretch of the Naviglio Grande, from viale Gorizia to the bridge of via Valenza, becomes a very long open-air gallery dedicated to antiques, collectibles, and modern design.
The route winds for almost two kilometers along the towpath and hosts over 380 exhibitors each month, largely specializing in antiques. Two streets, Corsico and Paoli, are dedicated to quality vintage. Strolling among the stalls, you can find furniture, clocks, porcelain, silverware, jewelry, dolls, toys, books, glasses, radios, walking sticks, bronzes, glassware, comics, prints, and modern design objects.
Organized by the Associazione del Naviglio Grande, the Mercatone is now a classic of Milanese Sundays: a destination for collectors and rarity hunters, but also a simple stroll through history and curiosities in the most scenic and photographed setting in the city. In 2026, a special edition is also scheduled for February 8th, coinciding with the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympic Games.
