The gastronomic festival of the Gratosoglio neighbourhood
The Sagra del Ronchetto is the community gastronomic festival of Gratosoglio, a peripheral neighbourhood in the south of Milan (Municipality 5, Province of Milan, Lombardy). It takes place around the parish of Santi Pietro e Paolo ai Tre Ronchetti and was created with a dual objective: to bring together the various communities of the neighbourhood and to raise funds for the educational and social activities of the area.
The heart of the sagra is its popular cuisine: the stalls offer risottos, mixed and vegetarian grilled dishes with cheeses, mixed fried dishes, French fries, beer, and drinks. It's an opportunity to gather at tables with neighbours, families, and friends, in an informal and welcoming atmosphere typical of Milanese neighbourhood sagre.
All proceeds from the Sagra del Ronchetto support the community's activities: the oratories' educational projects, summer holidays, the scout group, and the neighbourhood's sports activities. The event is entirely run by volunteers, involved in various services, from the till to the grills to welcoming guests. It is promoted by the Comunità Pastorale Visitazione della Beata Vergine Maria, which brings together the parishes in the area.
Gratosoglio is a social housing neighbourhood built from the 1960s onwards in the far southern outskirts of Milan, marked by its famous towers and a history of strong neighbourhood ties. In an urban context often described only for its critical issues, events like the Sagra del Ronchetto tell another side of the neighbourhood: that of an active community, capable of organising itself and celebrating together. The sagra is not just an opportunity to eat well at popular prices, but a moment when the various souls of the area—families, young people, parish groups, scouts—come together and collaborate, strengthening the fabric of relationships that is the true heritage of a peripheral neighbourhood.
From 12 to 14 June 2026, the Gratosoglio neighbourhood of Milan hosts the Sagra del Ronchetto, a community gastronomic festival centred around the parish of Santi Pietro e Paolo ai Tre Ronchetti. The stalls offer risottos, mixed and vegetarian grilled dishes, mixed fried dishes, chips, and beer. The sagra, run by volunteers, raises funds for the neighbourhood's oratories, summer holidays, scout group, and sports activities.
The sagra takes place on the evenings of June 12, 13, and 14, entirely run by neighbourhood volunteers. Proceeds support the community's educational and social activities.
