Fiori e Sapori sul Naviglio Grande

Fiori e Sapori sul Naviglio Grande is one of the most beloved events in the Navigli district of Milan. Organised by the Associazione del Naviglio Grande since 1982, it takes place along the Alzaia of the Naviglio Grande, in the Porta Genova area (District 6), transforming the canal banks into a large open-air exhibition-market dedicated to floriculture and food and wine.

Nursery gardeners, florists, and typical products

The stars are the nursery gardeners and florists from all over Italy, who exhibit rare plants, colourful flowers, and artistic compositions. Visitors can talk directly with the producers, discover plant care tips, and make purchases. Alongside the greenery, regional food and wine producers offer tastings of typical specialities, in a combination of horticulture and gastronomy that is the event's hallmark. There are also artisans and artistic workshops.

Two editions per year

The exhibition-market is held twice a year, with a spring edition (Sunday, April 12, 2026) and an autumn edition (Sunday, October 4, 2026). The two dates mark the rhythm of the seasons on the Naviglio Grande: spring with the rebirth of gardens, autumn with the colours and flavours of the harvest season. In both cases, the event takes place even if it rains.

Overlooking Milan's oldest canal, Fiori e Sapori sul Naviglio Grande is more than just a market: it's a stroll through nature, taste, and craftsmanship, an opportunity to experience the Navigli in their most convivial and popular dimension. Admission is free, and the atmosphere is that of a relaxed Sunday outdoors in the heart of Milan.
