The Sagra della Gastronomia Castelnovese is one of the longest-running gastronomic events of the summer in Assisi (province of Perugia). It is held in Castelnuovo, a hamlet of the Municipality of Assisi, and is organized by the Pro Loco of Castelnuovo, which has animated the village with this festival for decades.
Typical cuisine and dancing evenings
The protagonist is the typical Castelnovese and Umbrian cuisine: every evening, the stands offer numerous local specialties. Accompanying the dinners, dancing evenings with some of the best Italian orchestras and, in recent editions, also evenings with DJ sets in the event's revived pub.
A festival for all ages
Amidst good food, music, and fun, the festival is a meeting point for the community of Castelnuovo and for visitors from the Assisi area. Recent editions have seen the inauguration of a new structure dedicated to the event, a sign of the Pro Loco's vitality and the village's attachment to this tradition.

The Sagra della Gastronomia Castelnovese renews its summer appointment in Castelnuovo di Assisi for 2026, during the usual period between late June and early July. The offering that gives the festival its name is confirmed: typical Castelnovese cuisine, with numerous specialties served every evening.
Accompanying the evenings, dances with orchestras and DJ set events, in a tried-and-tested formula that attracts many visitors each year.
