The Sagra della Castagna e del Pane Casereccio is the autumn event in Brallo di Pregola, a mountain municipality in the Alto Oltrepò in the Province of Pavia. Under the marquee of the Gruppo Alpini del Brallo (Alpini Group of Brallo), you can enjoy the traditional lunch with polenta, lentils, and cooked salami. The Pro Loco of Brallo offers typical desserts, from chestnut cakes to rustic biscuits, while stalls display local crafts and products such as oil and cheeses.

Music, nature, and foliage

The day is accompanied by folk music and a walk through the ancient chestnut trees, an excursion into the autumn foliage suitable for everyone. Promoted by the Pro Loco, the festival is an opportunity to discover the Pavia mountains and the traditions of the Oltrepò Pavese, in a corner of Lombardy where the Apennines meet Piedmont and Emilia.

Brallo di Pregola can be reached by car by going up the Staffora Valley from Voghera beyond Varzi, up to the Brallo pass. The reference station is Voghera, on the Milan–Genoa line.
