When summer arrives, the courtyard of the Ex Appannaggio in Jesi transforms into one of the most beloved open-air cinema arenas in the province of Ancona. Effetto Notte is the festival that brings the big screen to the heart of the city, in an intimate and evocative space just a stone's throw from the historic center, where every evening people gather to watch a film comfortably seated under the Marche sky.
A program for all tastes
The strength of Effetto Notte lies in its program designed to please diverse audiences. Screenings are divided into several sections: Social Cult Movie features films addressing social issues, biopics, and auteur works that encourage reflection; Cinema for Families offers animated and adventure films for the little ones; there are also titles for young audiences and previews of the latest releases. A formula that alternates entertainment and substance, blockbusters, and films to discover.
Not just films
The evenings are enhanced by entertainment and a bar area with food and drinks, making the arena a true summer meeting point. On some evenings, an hour before the screening, the IME (Istituto Marchigiano di Enogastronomia - Marche Institute of Food and Wine), together with sommelier Luca Civerchia, conducts guided tastings to discover the signature wines of the Marche, combining the pleasure of cinema with the flavors of the region. Special attention is also paid to sustainability, with a water station allowing free refills of water bottles.
A Jesi summer event
Curated by Giometti in collaboration with the Municipality of Jesi and the Fondazione Pergolesi Spontini, the festival is an integral part of the Jesi Estate program and has become a classic for the residents of the Vallesina area. With its affordable prices and convivial atmosphere, Effetto Notte is the perfect way to experience summer evenings in the Marche, between a screening and a chat with friends.
Effetto Notte — edition 2026
For the summer of 2026, the Effetto Notte festival returns to the courtyard of the Ex Appannaggio in Jesi from June 21 to August 31, as part of the Jesi Estate 2026 program. Screenings are held every evening at 9:15 PM, excluding Tuesdays and Ferragosto, unless suspended due to bad weather.
The dual nature of the program is confirmed, with the Social Cult Movie section dedicated to films addressing social issues, biopics, and auteur cinema, and the Cinema for Families section featuring animation and adventure for the little ones. The festival is curated by Giometti in collaboration with the Municipality of Jesi and the Fondazione Pergolesi Spontini.

The detailed screening schedule for the 2026 edition will be published by the Municipality of Jesi and the organizers closer to the start of the festival. The confirmed structure includes:
- Period: June 21 – August 31, 2026, every evening at 9:15 PM (excluding Tuesdays and Ferragosto, weather permitting).
