Festa del Colle

A neighbourhood festival with its heart in Parco del Cannocchiale

Festa del Colle is the summer event of the Colle Paradiso district, one of the hilly neighbourhoods of Jesi, in the province of Ancona, in the heart of the Vallesina region of Marche. Every year, in June, Parco del Cannocchiale transforms for a weekend into the community's open-air living room: tables, food stalls, music, and sports bring together families, young people, and the elderly under the affectionate slogan that accompanies the festival, «Welcome to Paradise».

Flavours, music, and tournaments under the stars

The festival's programme revolves around some fixed ingredients that make it recognizable. The food stalls offer first courses, sandwiches, fried foods, gratinated vegetables, and other specialities prepared by volunteers, accompanied by a bar area. The evenings are marked by live music, with local bands and artists taking turns on the stage set up in the park.

There is ample space dedicated to amateur and inclusive sport: during the event, football, basketball, bowls, and burraco tournaments are held, designed to involve people of all ages in a relaxed and non-competitive atmosphere. There are also moments dedicated to the youngest, with games and entertainment for children.

A solidarity festival for the park

Festa del Colle is not just about fun: it is also a project for the care of common goods. The proceeds from the event are indeed allocated to improvement works for Parco del Cannocchiale, from new games for the children's area to furnishings and equipment for the public green spaces. This is the spirit that drives the volunteers of the Colle Paradiso Neighbourhood Committee, supported by the Pro Loco and the residents of the district, who every year transform a simple village festival into a concrete opportunity for the life of the neighbourhood.

Jesi and the Vallesina

Part of the rich programme of Jesi Estate (Jesi Summer), Festa del Colle is one of the many neighbourhood festivals that liven up the city during the warm season and tells the most authentic and community-oriented face of Jesi, a city of art in the Marche region known for its medieval historic centre and the Pergolesi Theatre.
