Four days of celebration in Farra d'Isonzo in the name of solidarity and blood donation
In mid-July, as the Isontine plain heats up under the sun, Farra d'Isonzo gathers around a festival with a generous heart: the Sagra del Donatore, promoted by the local section of ADVS FIDAS Isontina. More than just a village festival, it's an event that links summer fun with a profound message, that of voluntary blood donation, a value that has been rooted in Farra for generations.
The event takes place in the village's festival area and unfolds over four days packed with activities: rock concerts, dance evenings with orchestras, motorcycle rallies, briscola card games, beer pong, dance performances, and the unmissable final tombola (bingo) with a rich prize pool. The food stalls, open every evening and also for lunch on Sundays, offer the flavours of Friulian and Isontine tradition, accompanied by wines from the Collio region and fresh beer.
The festival is held concurrently with the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel (July 16th), an element that intertwines the religious dimension with the community one, making these days the most anticipated moment of the Farra summer. The participation of the Municipality of Farra d'Isonzo and numerous associations testifies to the event's strong roots in the social fabric of the village.
Farra d'Isonzo, in the province of Gorizia, is located among the vineyards of Collio and the banks of the Isonzo river, a few kilometres from Gradisca and the Slovenian border. The festival is also an ideal opportunity to discover a territory of great wines and river landscapes, in an authentic corner of Friuli Venezia Giulia.
The 2026 edition of the Sagra del Donatore is expected in mid-July, following the tradition of linking it to the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. The four-day format is confirmed with concerts, dance evenings, a motorcycle rally, competitions, and tournaments, along with the food stalls managed by FIDAS volunteers.
The detailed program will be announced in the coming weeks on the channels of the Municipality and the FIDAS section of Farra d'Isonzo.
