The historic festival of Jalmicco, a stone's throw from the star-shaped city of Palmanova
Jalmicco is a hamlet of Palmanova, the famous star-shaped city, a UNESCO heritage site in the heart of the Bassa friulana. It is here that every July the Sagre dai Borgs comes to life, one of the most traditional and long-standing festivals in the area: over half a century of history that makes it a defining event for the entire community.
For five days, the stalls offer the great classics of the festival: homemade potato gnocchi, grilled meats, fried calamari, accompanied by beer and wine tastings. The evenings come alive with music from dance orchestras and live concerts, following the best tradition of Friulian festivals.
The program is full of initiatives: the village relay race, the eagerly awaited race that opens the festival, the charity raffle with rich prizes, painting and sculpture exhibitions, and moments dedicated to the inclusion and participation of the entire community. The event is organized by Pro Loco Jalmic, the soul of the hamlet's community life.
Participating in the Sagre dai Borgs also means discovering a territory rich in history: the nearby Palmanova, with its star-shaped walls and large hexagonal square, is one of the most fascinating Renaissance fortresses in Europe. Between good food, music, and culture, the Jalmicco festival is an event not to be missed in the Friulian summer.
The 2026 edition, the fifty-sixth, is scheduled from July 17 to 21 in Jalmicco, a hamlet of Palmanova, organized by Pro Loco Jalmic. The detailed timetable will be published on the official website www.jalmicco.com in the weeks preceding the event.
