Sport becomes a festival

The Sagra dello Sport is one of the most beloved summer events in San Lorenzo Isontino, a small municipality in the province of Gorizia nestled in the Collio region. It is organized by ASD Unione Friuli Isontina, the town's sports club, which transforms the sports field in Via Gavinana into a large festival hub for three weekends between July and August.

Tournaments for everyone

As the name suggests, sport is at the heart of the event. There are tournaments for football (including the fun "Survivor" format), green volley, and beach volley with the Memorial dedicated to Corrado Simonetti, as well as more traditional competitions like briscola, alongside dance and fitness exhibitions. A program designed to engage athletes and enthusiasts of all ages.

Dine on the flavors of the Collio

Alongside sport, the other main star is gastronomy. Food stalls offer local specialties paired with local Collio wines, in a convivial setting where people gather for dinner after the matches. It's the authentic cuisine of Friulian sagre (food festivals), to be enjoyed at outdoor tables on summer evenings.

Music and fun until late

Every evening, after dinner, the atmosphere heats up with live music and DJ sets: bands, ensembles, and DJs liven up the sports field with various genres, from ballroom dance music to pop, from rock to dance entertainment. An authentic village festival that combines sport, flavors, and fun in the heart of the Gorizia Collio.
