A week of celebration in the heart of Friuli

When the first week of June arrives, Piazza San Giuseppe in Case di Manzano transforms into the beating heart of one of the most cherished festivals in Friuli Venezia Giulia. Fieste in Plàce, which in 2026 will reach its forty-third edition, is much more than a simple village festival: it is an event that for over forty years has attracted visitors from all over eastern Friuli, from the chair district of Manzano to the hills of Collio and Rosazzo Abbey.

The cuisine that makes the difference

The secret to the success of Fieste in Plàce lies above all in its simple and generous cuisine. The signature dish is homemade gnocchi with meat ragù, prepared according to Friulian tradition and which over the years has become a real gastronomic attraction. Alongside these are fragrant grilled meats, guanciale with polenta, and a selection of excellent local beers and wines, expressions of a territory dedicated to viticulture. The food stalls open every evening from 6:30 PM, with afternoon openings on public holidays.

Music, dancing, and fun for everyone

The evenings of Fieste in Plàce are marked by music and dancing: show orchestras for lovers of ballroom dancing, evenings with DJs in the "Giardino in piazza" (Garden in the square), entertainment for the little ones, and skating performances. The traditional gathering of Vespas and scooters, a much-appreciated moment of aggregation, is not to be missed, while for sports enthusiasts, walks in the surrounding hills are planned. Sunday also intertwines with the religious dimension, with the Corpus Domini procession.

A community heritage

Organized by the Comitato Iniziative Paesane Localita Case di Manzano APS (Committee for Village Initiatives of Case di Manzano APS), Fieste in Plàce is the result of the voluntary work of an entire community. It is a festival that combines tradition, culture, and fun, capable of attracting thousands of people every year and representing one of the unmissable events on the Friulian festival calendar. The municipality of Manzano and the Province of Udine recognize it as one of the reference events in the area.
