A week of celebration in the heart of Friuli

When the first week of June arrives, Piazza San Giuseppe in Case di Manzano transforms into the beating heart of one of the most cherished festivals in Friuli Venezia Giulia. Fieste in Plàce, entering its forty-third edition in 2026, is much more than a simple village festival: it is an event that for over forty years has drawn visitors from all over eastern Friuli, from the chair district of Manzano to the hills of Collio and Rosazzo Abbey.

The cuisine that makes the difference

The secret to Fieste in Plàce's success lies above all in its simple and generous cuisine. The signature dish is homemade gnocchi with meat ragù, prepared according to Friulian tradition and which over the years have become a true gastronomic attraction. Alongside these are fragrant grilled meats, guanciale with polenta, and a selection of excellent local beer and wines, expressions of a territory dedicated to viticulture. The food stalls open every evening from 6:30 PM, with afternoon openings on holidays.

Music, dancing, and fun for everyone

The evenings of Fieste in Plàce are marked by music and dancing: show orchestras for ballroom dancing enthusiasts, evenings with DJs in the "Giardino in piazza" (Garden in the square), entertainment for children, and skating performances. The traditional Vespa and scooter rally, a highly anticipated gathering, is also featured, while for sports enthusiasts, walks in the surrounding hills are organized. Sunday also intertwines with the religious dimension, with the Corpus Domini procession.

A community heritage

Organized by the Comitato Iniziative Paesane Localita Case di Manzano APS (Local Initiatives Committee of Case di Manzano APS), Fieste in Plàce is the result of the voluntary work of an entire community. It is a festival that combines tradition, culture, and fun, capable of attracting thousands of people each year and representing one of the unmissable events in the Friulian festival calendar. The municipality of Manzano and the Province of Udine recognize it as one of the landmark events of the territory.
