In Fiumicello the historic showcase of Friulian fruit farming
In Fiumicello Villa Vicentina, in the province of Udine, peaches are not just a fruit: they are a heritage. For decades, this corner of Bassa Friulana, blessed by a mild climate and fertile soils, has been one of the most renowned fruit-growing districts in the region, and every July it celebrates its agricultural vocation with the Mostra Regionale delle Pesche e dell'Ortofrutta Locale, one of the longest-standing and most beloved events in Friuli Venezia Giulia.
The heart of the event is the market exhibition, where local fruit and vegetable excellences are exhibited and sold: peaches in the first place, but also tomatoes, zucchini, cherries, and peppers, the fruit of the labour of local producers. It is a unique opportunity to buy fresh and genuine products directly from those who cultivate them, in a direct dialogue between the countryside and the consumer.
A rich programme of initiatives revolves around the market exhibition: dancing evenings with orchestras, concerts, shows for children, art and photography exhibitions, book presentations, and conferences dedicated to sustainable agriculture, rural history, and local traditions. A great community festival that brings together farmers, artisans, residents, and tourists.
The event, promoted by the Municipality of Fiumicello Villa Vicentina in collaboration with local associations, is also an opportunity to discover the Bassa Friulana, a stone's throw from Aquileia, Grado, and the lagoon. Between Roman archaeology, beaches, and good food, the Peach Exhibition is the sweetest way to get to know this corner of Friuli.
The 67th edition of the Regional Exhibition of Peaches and Local Fruit and Vegetables is scheduled from July 17 to 21, 2026. Five days of celebration with the market exhibition of local horticultural excellences, dancing evenings, concerts, children's shows, exhibitions, and conferences, in a grand community festival celebrating Friulian fruit farming.
The detailed program for the 2026 edition will be announced by the Municipality of Fiumicello Villa Vicentina in the coming weeks. Based on previous editions, the event typically features: a market exhibition of local peaches and fruit and vegetables open daily, dancing evenings with orchestras, concerts, children's shows, art and photography exhibitions, book presentations, and conferences on agriculture, accompanied by food stands with local products.
Fiumicello Villa Vicentina can be reached from the SS 14; motorway exits Palmanova or Villesse (A4). The exhibition takes place in the town centre, along Via Antonio Gramsci.
Free admission. Food stands and market exhibition with direct sales of products.
Accommodation facilities in Aquileia, Grado, Cervignano, and in the Bassa Friulana.
