The Bitonto road race, third stage of the Terra di Bari circuit
RunBitOne has become a staple of the Puglian running calendar. Organized by A.S.D. Bitonto Sportiva, the race takes place in Bitonto, a city in the Province of Bari famous for its medieval historic center and extra virgin olive oil, transforming a Sunday in March into a grand festival dedicated to road running.
The event is included in the national FIDAL calendar (Italian Athletics Federation) and serves as the third stage of the "Terra di Bari" circuit, the championship that brings together the main road races in the Bari area. This makes it an important event for both registered athletes and amateurs: the competitive race is also open to runners not registered with any club, an aspect that broadens participation and makes the event truly popular.
The heart of the event is the 10 km competitive race, which unfolds entirely on peripheral and suburban roads, starting and finishing in the industrial area of Bitonto, along Viale delle Nazioni. Alongside the competitive race, there is a 5 km fun run, non-competitive, designed for families, beginners, and those who want to experience the event's atmosphere without the pressure of the clock.
Beyond the competitive aspect, RunBitOne is an opportunity to experience Bitonto and its sports community. Bitonto Sportiva and the vibrant local running scene bring the day to life with a festive atmosphere that involves athletes, supporters, and citizens. Year after year, the race confirms its status as one of the most popular runs in the area, with hundreds of finishers and a strong presence of Puglian running clubs.
The seventh edition of RunBitOne took place on Sunday, March 22, 2026, in Bitonto, confirming its status as one of the most attended road races in the Province of Bari. The 10 km competitive race recorded 776 finishers, a testament to the growing following of the event organized by A.S.D. Bitonto Sportiva. Valid as the third stage of the Terra di Bari circuit, the race also featured the usual 5 km fun run open to everyone.
