The signature jazz festival in Acquaviva delle Fonti
Born in the early 2000s, Jazzset has become one of the most established and recognized events on the Apulian jazz scene. Hosted in Acquaviva delle Fonti, a town in the Bari province known for its springs and its majestic Cathedral, the festival is organized by the Club 1799 Association and curated by artistic director Giuseppe Netti. In 2026, the event reaches the milestone of its 24th edition, confirming its status as a benchmark for lovers of high-quality jazz.
The core of Jazzset is Club 1799, a jazz club that hosts concerts during the colder months in an intimate, cozy atmosphere, ideal for improvised music. Over time, world-class musicians have performed here, ranging from original productions and duo projects to international ensembles. During the summer, the festival moves outdoors, taking over Piazza dei Martiri del 1799, which is transformed into a large open-air jazz club capable of hosting over a thousand spectators, before expanding to other iconic locations across Puglia.
Jazzset is made possible with the support of the Puglia Region and the Municipality of Acquaviva delle Fonti, in collaboration with Puglia Culture, PugliaSounds, and Italia Jazz Club. Together with Italia Jazz Club, the festival also co-produces a national contest dedicated to new jazz talents, a sign of its constant focus on the new generation of musicians.
The Jazzset program alternates between international stars and key figures of the Italian scene, with a special focus on sounds that weave together jazz, world music, soul, and Mediterranean influences. Throughout the years, world-class artists have passed through Acquaviva, while the summer evenings in Apulian squares have solidified the festival's vocation to make jazz a popular and shared event, capable of engaging a wide and diverse audience.
The 24th edition of Jazzset unfolds throughout 2026, from March 7 until the end of December, with a program that weaves together indoor concerts and major open-air summer evenings. In Acquaviva delle Fonti, in the Bari province, the festival curated by Giuseppe Netti confirms its international ambition, hosting protagonists of the global jazz scene alongside the best performers of the Italian and Apulian scene.
It kicks off in March in the intimate atmosphere of Club 1799; then, with the arrival of summer, the music moves to Piazza dei Martiri del 1799, transformed into an open-air jazz club, before reaching other locations in the region, such as Santa Cesarea Terme in Salento.
The festival continues in Salento, in collaboration with the local administration and the Terme, with guests such as Toninho Horta, the Nicola Stilo Quartet, Sir Waldo Weathers & Organic Trio, and the London Afrobeat Collective. Detailed dates and times are announced progressively on the festival's channels.
Winter concerts are held at Club 1799 in Acquaviva delle Fonti (Bari province), while summer events take place in Piazza dei Martiri del 1799 and other locations in Puglia. Some concerts are also held at the Teatro Luciani.
Acquaviva delle Fonti is located about 30 km south of Bari, well-connected via the SS 100 road and the Ferrovie Appulo Lucane rail lines. The historic center and concert venues are easily accessible on foot.
