The grand international gastronomic journey at the Nuova Fiera di Roma
Rome Meets the World (also known as the World Festival) is one of Europe's largest events: over 90,000 square meters of the Nuova Fiera di Roma, located at Via Portuense 1645 in the Portuense district, are filled with music, cultures, performances, and flavors from every corner of the planet. Within this massive venue, the culinary soul is entrusted to two areas that are worth the visit alone: the World Street Food Festival and the World Grill Festival (Global Grills).
The gastronomic heart of the fair gathers more than 40 international street food restaurants and stands. Strolling through the pavilions, you can move in just a few steps from Spanish paella to Argentine asado, from American ribs to Mexican nachos, without forgetting Irish cuisine, Eastern flavors, and sweet and savory specialties from every continent. It is the kind of experience that makes this Roman stop a small trip around the world at the table, suitable for curious foodies of all ages.
Alongside the street food, the World Grill Festival showcases the great traditions of open-flame cooking: from South American asado to North American barbecue, up to traditional Mediterranean grills. The scent of wood, skewers, and hot plates accompanies the visitor on a journey dedicated to those who love meat and conviviality around the fire.
A single ticket grants access to over thirty simultaneous festivals. Surrounding the food areas are the Festival of the Orient (dances, martial arts, exhibitions, and concerts), the Irish Festival, the Country and Spanish festivals, Latin America with samba and salsa, the Argentine Festival with tango, the October Festival in Bavarian style with beer, the Motor Show, the Tattoo Experience, and a large international bazaar. For the little ones, there is the Games of the World area. A format that has attracted over 200,000 visitors in past editions.
The event is held in the Portuense district, at the south-western edge of Rome, the capital of the Lazio region and the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital. The Nuova Fiera di Roma, easily reachable by train and car, is the ideal setting for an event designed for families and those who want to travel through world cultures without leaving the Capital.
The 2026 edition of Rome Meets the World was held over two long spring weekends, from April 24 to 26 and from May 1 to 3, 2026, across the 90,000+ square meters of the Nuova Fiera di Roma. The gastronomic areas were the stars: the World Street Food Festival and the World Grill Festival, with more than 40 restaurants and stands featuring paella, asado, ribs, nachos, Irish cuisine, and specialties from every continent. All this was immersed in dozens of thematic festivals, shows, and a large international bazaar.
By train: FL1 line with a dedicated "Fiera di Roma" stop, just a few steps from the entrances. By car: from the Grande Raccordo Anulare (GRA), follow signs for Fiera di Roma / Via Portuense; ample parking is available. By plane: Rome Fiumicino Airport is a short distance away.
The event is open approximately from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Entry is via a single ticket (€16 for the 2026 edition) valid for all festivals on the chosen day. We recommend purchasing in advance on the official website festivaldelmondo.it.
To enjoy street food and grills at a leisurely pace, it is best to arrive in the first part of the day and avoid the peak lunch hours. Comfortable clothing is recommended: the pavilions span over 90,000 square meters.
