About World Street Food Rome

At the Nuova Fiera di Roma in the Portuense district, Rome Meets the World transforms over 90,000 square meters into a massive journey through the flavors of the planet. The World Street Food Festival and the Global Grills are the delicious heart of the event: more than 40 restaurants and stands offer paella, asado, ribs, nachos, Irish cuisine, and specialties from every continent. With a single ticket, you can discover dozens of festivals featuring music, dance, performances, and street food from all over the world across two spring weekends.

A trip around the world on a plate, at the Fiera di Roma

Rome Meets the World (also known as the World Festival) is one of Europe's largest events: over 90,000 square meters of the Nuova Fiera di Roma, located at Via Portuense 1645 in the Portuense district, are filled with music, cultures, performances, and flavors from every corner of the planet. Within this massive venue, the culinary soul is entrusted to two areas that are worth the visit alone: the World Street Food Festival and the World Grill Festival (Global Grills).

World Street Food: over 40 cuisines from across the globe

The gastronomic heart of the fair gathers more than 40 international street food restaurants and stands. Strolling through the pavilions, you can move in just a few steps from Spanish paella to Argentine asado, from American ribs to Mexican nachos, without forgetting Irish cuisine, Eastern flavors, and sweet and savory specialties from every continent. It is the kind of experience that makes this Roman stop a small trip around the world at the table, suitable for curious foodies of all ages.

Global Grills: meat takes center stage

Alongside the street food, the World Grill Festival showcases the great traditions of open-flame cooking: from South American asado to North American barbecue, up to traditional Mediterranean grills. The scent of wood, skewers, and hot plates accompanies the visitor on a journey dedicated to those who love meat and conviviality around the fire.

Much more than just food: dozens of festivals in one

A single ticket grants access to over thirty simultaneous festivals. Surrounding the food areas are the Festival of the Orient (dances, martial arts, exhibitions, and concerts), the Irish Festival, the Country and Spanish festivals, Latin America with samba and salsa, the Argentine Festival with tango, the October Festival in Bavarian style with beer, the Motor Show, the Tattoo Experience, and a large international bazaar. For the little ones, there is the Games of the World area. A format that has attracted over 200,000 visitors in past editions.

Rome, the Capital that welcomes the flavors of the world

The event is held in the Portuense district, at the south-western edge of Rome, the capital of the Lazio region and the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital. The Nuova Fiera di Roma, easily reachable by train and car, is the ideal setting for an event designed for families and those who want to travel through world cultures without leaving the Capital.

World Street Food Rome — edition 2026

In 2026, Rome Meets the World took place at the Nuova Fiera di Roma over two weekends: April 24-26 and May 1-3. A single €16 ticket provided access to over thirty festivals, featuring the World Street Food Festival and the Global Grills with more than 40 international restaurants and stands.

The 2026 edition of Rome Meets the World was held over two long spring weekends, from April 24 to 26 and from May 1 to 3, 2026, across the 90,000+ square meters of the Nuova Fiera di Roma.
