Rome Dance Competition

A major dance event on the outskirts of Rome

The Rome Dance Competition is one of the most anticipated dance events in the Roman area. It takes place at Cinecittà World, the cinema and television-themed park located in the Castel Romano district, within the Municipality of Rome, in the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital, in the Lazio region. Born to celebrate International Dance Day, the competition transforms the park's theaters into a large open-air laboratory dedicated to the art of movement.

International Dance Day

The event celebrates International Dance Day, an annual occasion that unites dancers and enthusiasts from all over the world. The goal is to promote and unite the dance community, offering schools, students, and professionals an opportunity for training, exchange, and performance. The format includes days of camps, masterclasses, and a final competition involving various categories and age groups.

Masterclasses with great masters

The heart of the event lies in the masterclasses held by some of the most well-known names in Italian dance and entertainment. Masters who have led the sessions include:

• Alessandra Celentano, celebrated classical dance teacher;
• Emanuel Lo, choreographer and dancer;
• Anbeta Toromani, étoile and television dance personality;
• Alessio La Padula, Simone Ginanneschi, Spillo, Federica Soncin, Milena Zullo, and numerous other professionals from the classical, contemporary, and urban sectors.

The artistic direction is entrusted to long-standing figures such as Andre De La Roche, Ilir Shaqiri, and Piero Zinna.

The competition: from classical to urban

The competition is open to dancers of all levels and covers the main dance styles: classical, modern, contemporary, hip hop, and urban. Performances are evaluated by a qualified jury, and the best performers receive awards in their respective categories, from the youngest to senior groups.

International recognition

The Rome Dance Competition is held under the patronage of CID-UNESCO (International Dance Council), ACSI, and the Italian National Fair Play Committee, elements that highlight its international vocation and educational value, beyond its purely competitive nature.
