The pop and nerd culture festival at Cinecittà World
Roma Comics is the capital's newest major event dedicated to nerd culture. The inaugural edition takes place on June 13th and 14th, 2026, inside Cinecittà World, the theme park located in the Castel Romano area, on the southern outskirts of Rome, in the Lazio region. For two days, the park transforms into a hub for comics, cosplay, gaming, and entertainment, featuring over 200 stands and a rich calendar of live performances.
The event is held within the grounds of Cinecittà World, on Via di Castel Romano, easily accessible from the Grande Raccordo Anulare. The gates open at 11:00 AM and activities continue until the evening, with shows and entertainment enlivening the park well into the night. Tickets grant access to both the exhibition area and the park's attractions, offering an experience that blends a comic book fair with the thrill of theme park rides.
The heart of Roma Comics is the expansive exhibition area with more than 200 stands. Enthusiasts can find everything they need:
The program features a mix of panels, meet-and-greets, and main stage shows. Highlights include cosplay competitions and showcases, wrestling matches, K-pop dance performances and contests, DJ sets, a Body Painting Show, 80s-themed nerd quizzes, and a closing concert featuring covers of iconic cartoon theme songs. The pace is set to keep the energy high throughout both days.
The first edition brings together over twenty guests, including voice actors, authors, comic artists, and content creators. Announced names include fantasy author Licia Troisi, voice actors Perla Liberatori and Gabriele Lopez, and various cosplayers and artists from the Italian nerd scene, all participating in interviews, talks, and workshops.
Thanks to the Cinecittà World setting, Roma Comics is perfectly suited for families: children can alternate between visiting the stands and enjoying the park's attractions, while fans can immerse themselves in two days of pop culture. A new landmark for the fandom in Rome and the Lazio region, enriching the city's calendar of nerd events.
Roma Comics 2026 officially opened at 11:30 AM on Saturday, June 13th, featuring two days of shows and meet-and-greets at Cinecittà World. Over 200 stands dedicated to comics, manga, collectibles, and crafts accompanied a packed program of events, cosplay contests, wrestling shows, and K-pop performances.
