Hunting, agriculture, motors, and traditions in the green heart of the Caserta region
The Rocca d'Evandro Vallevona Fair is a brand-new event: its inaugural edition took place on July 4th and 5th, 2026, in the hamlet of Vallevona, within the municipality of Rocca d'Evandro, in the province of Caserta. Located at the northernmost tip of Campania, where the region overlooks the Garigliano valley and borders the Lazio region, the event is built on a simple yet ambitious idea: to bring together in one large green space everything that defines life in these hills—hunting, agriculture, animals, field work, and local conviviality.
The choice of Vallevona is no coincidence. It is a vast green area just a few kilometers from the town center, a place naturally suited to hosting stands, field trials, and families looking to relax, without the constraints of narrow historic town squares. The result is a fair that you can explore while walking in the open air, with children in tow, and at a leisurely pace.
The fair was established under the aegis of the Memorial dedicated to Mario Teoli, Giuseppe Di Zazzo, and Ennio Marrocco, three fellow citizens remembered annually by the community of Rocca d'Evandro. In 2026, the Memorial reached its fifth edition and served as the backdrop for the debut of the fair: a way to link the memory of three beloved local figures to a shared day of celebration, with constant thoughts for their families. This dual nature—memorial and festive—gives the event a character that goes beyond a simple exhibition.
The core of the exhibition is dedicated to agricultural machinery and field equipment, with leading industry brands represented by local dealers: Comaia for Landini, Zamponi for Massey Ferguson, Martino for John Deere, Di Carlo for Same, Global Truck with Rippa mini-excavators, and Agritech. There is also a strong presence of gardening and DIY specialists, such as Pietro Marandola for Husqvarna, and the CDA of Rocca d'Evandro with the Milwaukee brand.
An equally large space is devoted to the hunting and cynological world, featuring Armeria Ferraro, technical clothing, GPS systems for hunting dogs, Cinofilia Camilli, and FG Technology. Rounding out the event are local artisans, such as Santini with their terracotta pots and woodwork, as well as local food and wine producers.
Alongside the stands, the fair offers a sports program designed for the surrounding hilly landscape. The Regional ENCI Dog Show attracts enthusiasts and handlers from across the region and is accompanied by a show by Marco Verzola. Sunday is dedicated to the mountain bike race, organized by Extasi MTB in collaboration with Real Mignano, starting from the nearby town of Mignano Montelungo and finishing at the fairgrounds. The program also includes excavator field trials and shooting competitions, with air rifle shooting available for children under the supervision of instructors.
The social side of the event is handled by food stalls serving local products and the essential arrosticini, a drink area with cocktails, and musical evenings that close out both days. For children, there is a play area and horseback rides provided by the Valle dei Santi Ranch, making the fair a perfect destination for families looking to spend a day in the open air.
Rocca d'Evandro is a town of just over three thousand inhabitants, stretching between the Garigliano River and hills rising to nearly a thousand meters. It features an ancient village dominated by a castle and a mosaic of scattered hamlets—Camino, Mortola, Cocuruzzo, Casamarina, Vallevona—that reflect its rural roots. We are in a border area, just minutes from Cassino and the Abbey of Montecassino, where Campania meets Lazio and lower Molise. Visiting the fair is therefore a great opportunity to discover a corner of the province of Caserta far from the beaten tourist paths, characterized by woods, olive groves, and small villages.
The inaugural edition of the Rocca d'Evandro Vallevona Fair was held on Saturday, July 4th, and Sunday, July 5th, 2026, in the large green area of the Vallevona hamlet, organized by ASD Alpen Jager in close collaboration with Italcaccia Rocca d'Evandro and with the patronage of the Municipality. Among the main promoters of the initiative was Davide Arcaro, president of the local Italcaccia association.
The event combined the local territory's core identities into a single weekend: the hunting and cynological world, agricultural mechanization, motors, outdoor sports, and village conviviality. Everything took place under the banner of the 5th Memorial dedicated to Mario Teoli, Giuseppe Di Zazzo, and Ennio Marrocco, with the organizers dedicating a thought to their families.
In addition to the exhibition stands, the fairgrounds hosted a children's play area, horseback rides provided by the Valle dei Santi Ranch, a drink area with cocktails, and a gastronomic offering based on local products, including arrosticini. Exhibition spaces were provided free of charge to local artisans and businesses to showcase the productive realities of the upper Caserta area.
Specific times for individual initiatives were not released by the organizers: for details, please refer to the social channels of ASD Alpen Jager and Italcaccia Rocca d'Evandro.
