A day dedicated to beekeeping and artisanal crafts in the heart of the Gesso Valley
Roaschia in Fiore is the event that celebrates the arrival of the warmer season in Roaschia, a small village in the Gesso Valley, in the Province of Cuneo and in the heart of Piedmont. Nestled on the valley floor at an altitude of approximately 820 meters, at the gates of the Maritime Alps Natural Park, this village of a few hundred inhabitants, made up of numerous hamlets scattered among the mountains, opens its squares and courtyards for a day of celebration dedicated to beekeeping, flowers, and the valley's artisanal crafts.
The common thread of the event is the relationship between man, bees, and the alpine environment. Throughout the day, visitors can participate in a guided tour among bees and flowers, with staggered departures in small groups, to discover the world of mountain beekeeping and local flora up close. Dedicated moments are planned for children and families, such as flower planting and the beeswax workshop, opportunities to learn while having fun and to get a hands-on look at the work of beekeepers.
Throughout the day, the town center hosts a market of local products and local crafts, where you can find honey, cheeses, sweets, and creations made by the artisans of the Gesso Valley. The convivial heart of the festival is the festival lunch, with a menu entirely built around honey: from honey aperitifs to pasta with honey pesto, to tasting boards and seirass with honey. There is also a proposal dedicated to children, and live music accompanies lunch and the afternoon.
The event is also an opportunity to discover Roaschia and its identity. The town is known for the Roaschia sheep, an indigenous breed of the valley, and for a genuine gastronomy that ranges from tajarin to mountain pasture cheeses. The origins of the Municipality are ancient and date back to at least the 12th century, in a territory marked by stories of shepherds, caves, and mountain life. Roaschia in Fiore thus combines the promotion of popular traditions with a day in the open air, suitable for families and nature lovers.
The first edition of Roaschia in Fiore enlivened the center of Roaschia on Sunday, May 10, 2026, organized by the Municipality and the Pro Loco.
The program included, from 10:00 to 12:15, the guided tour among bees and flowers with staggered departures in three groups, and until 12:30, pony rides. In the afternoon, from 14:00 to 15:30, the beeswax workshop was held, followed by flower planting from 15:30 to 16:00. A market of local products was set up throughout the day.
Roaschia can be reached by car from Cuneo by going up the Gesso Valley, towards Borgo San Dalmazzo, and then following the signs for Roaschia. The most convenient train station is Cuneo, from where you can continue by car or local transport.
Admission to the event and the market is free. The festival lunch costs 20 euros per person (water and bread included) and 12 euros for children. Booking for lunch is recommended and should be done in advance by contacting the Pro Loco.

We recommend comfortable clothing and shoes suitable for walking, as it is an outdoor day in a mountain environment.
