Three nights of food and live music in the village of Rigomagno
Rigofestival is the summer event that transforms the historic center of Rigomagno for three nightsโa small medieval village perched on an olive-covered hill in the Sienese Val di Chiana. The hamlet is part of the municipality of Sinalunga, in the province of Siena, in the heart of Tuscany. Organized by the Pro Loco Rigomagno, the festival is entirely dedicated to good food and live music: the food stands set up in Piazza Regina Margherita welcome visitors every evening for aperitifs and dinner in a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere.
Each night of Rigofestival features its own theme and menu. Options range from the RockBurger night, featuring Chianina burgers, fries, and beer (with an essential vegetarian alternative), to the Saturday dinner show with charcuterie boards, mixed grills, and dessert, all the way to the closing Sunday aperitif-dinner. The stage is an integral part of the festival: cover bands, DJ sets, and diverse live acts change from year to year, enlivening the square until late and giving the festival an identity that blends village tradition with concert-like energy.
Visiting Rigofestival is also an opportunity to discover Rigomagno, a village with ancient origins whose first documented records date back to the 11th century. During the period of the Republic of Siena, it served as an important border fortress: in 1281, the surrounding countryside was the scene of a battle between Guelphs and Ghibellines, after which the town was razed to the ground and later rebuilt with more solid fortifications. Today, its walls and narrow alleys offer picturesque views of the Val di Chiana, providing the ideal backdrop for a village festival.
Rigofestival is born from the commitment of Pro Loco volunteers and represents one of the most anticipated moments of the summer for the Rigomagno community. Admission is free, and the atmosphere is typical of Tuscan festivals: long tables, generous portions, music, and a sense of togetherness. It is an event worth the trip for those seeking an authentic experience far from the most touristy destinations, immersed in the flavors and traditions of the Sienese territory.
The event is traditionally held in June, spanning three consecutive nights between Friday and Sunday. To find the updated program for each edition, including evening menus and guest artists, it is best to follow the Pro Loco Rigomagno social media channels.
The Rigofestival 2026 was held in Rigomagno from June 12 to 14, with food stands open every evening for aperitifs and dinner in Piazza Regina Margherita. Three themed evenings marked the event, featuring Chianina burgers, grills, and various musical performances.
