About RespirArt

RespirArt is an environmental art park situated between 2,000 and 2,200 meters above sea level on the Alpe di Pampeago, in the municipality of Tesero, Val di Fiemme. Along a 3 km circular trail, visitors encounter dozens of site-specific installations, soundscapes, and narratives that engage in a dialogue with the Latemar peaks, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Every summer, new works are unveiled during RespirArt Day, the heart of an international environmental art event that blends nature, creativity, and high-altitude wellness.

An open-air museum in the Dolomites

RespirArt is considered one of the highest environmental art parks in the world: its works are scattered between 2,000 and 2,200 meters above sea level on the Alpe di Pampeago, in the municipality of Tesero, Val di Fiemme, in the province of Trento, in the heart of Trentino-Alto Adige. The park was founded in 2011 from an idea by journalist and curator Beatrice Calamari and artist Marco Nones, who invite Italian and international artists every summer to create site-specific installations inspired by the alpine landscape and the Latemar peaks, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

A journey through art, sound, and nature

Visitors follow a 3-kilometer loop featuring dozens of environmental art pieces, wooden sculptures, installations, sound works, and audio stories that invite you to slow down and observe the mountains with fresh eyes. The experience weaves together art, nature, and wellness: RespirArt is not an exhibition to be rushed through, but a contemplative high-altitude walk where every piece dialogues with the sky, the rock, and the coniferous forests of the area.

RespirArt Day and the international exhibition

The highlight of every season is RespirArt Day, the opening event where the year's new works are presented as part of the International Environmental Art Exhibition. The inaugural walk starts from the Rifugio Monte Agnello and winds along the art trail to the Latemar Open-Air Theatre, featuring presentations of the installations and insights from the artists themselves.

Experiences and side events

During the summer, the park offers numerous activities for families and enthusiasts:

  • Risuoni d'Arte: musical and sound appointments among the artworks;
  • Parole in Alto: literary meetings and readings at high altitude;
  • Seminovia: a chairlift ride where you can sow mountain flowers;
  • artistic and environmental workshops for children and adults;
  • pony trekking, sunset e-bike rides, PilYoga sessions, and Forest Bathing.

How to experience the park

RespirArt is open and accessible from spring to autumn, typically from late June to early September, and can be reached on foot or comfortably via the Agnello chairlift. It is an experience designed for those who love the mountains, contemporary art, and slow tourism, and today it represents one of the most original cultural offerings in Val di Fiemme and the entire Trentino region.

RespirArt — edition 2026

The 2026 edition of RespirArt inaugurates the 18th International Environmental Art Exhibition with two new site-specific works presented during RespirArt Day on Saturday, June 27, 2026, on the Alpe di Pampeago in Tesero.

RespirArt 2026: the 18th international exhibition

The 2026 edition of RespirArt marks the 18th International Environmental Art Exhibition. The new works were inaugurated during RespirArt Day on Saturday, June 27, 2026, starting at 10:00 AM in front of the Rifugio Monte Agnello, with the presentation entrusted to journalist Maria Concetta Mattei.

The two new site-specific installations bear the signature of Antonella De Nisco, with the work Tronopoetico - Soglia di Luna, a sculpture-seat in the shape of a lunar crescent suspended between earth and sky, and Stefania Lai, with Presidio, a triptych of wooden structures with sprouts. The works explore the relationship between interiority, nature, and transformation, in dialogue with the Latemar peaks.

A summer of high-altitude events

For the occasion, the Agnello chairlift was offered at a reduced rate. During the summer of 2026, the park enlivens the Alpe di Pampeago with pony trekking, sunset e-bike rides, PilYoga sessions, and Forest Bathing appointments, in addition to the Risuoni d'Arte and Parole in Alto meetings along the art trail.
