Four scenic marathons in four days around Lake Orta
The Quadrortathon is one of the most original events on the Italian running calendar: a race every day for four consecutive days, each on a completely different route, all centered around the magnificent Lake Orta. The headquarters is Gozzano, a town in the province of Novara (Piedmont) overlooking the southern shore of the lake, where the start, finish, and event village are located. It is organized by the ASD Club Super Marathon Italia, an organization specializing in long-distance events and stage challenges for so-called "ultra-endurance" runners.
The beauty of the Quadrortathon is the freedom of choice: every morning you can decide which distance to run from three options—approximately 9.9 km, the 21 km half marathon, and the 42.195 km marathon. Some athletes tackle all four marathons for a total of over 168 km in four days, while others prefer a softer approach by alternating distances. Everyone starts together at 9:00 AM, creating a striking spectacle on the shores of the lake.
More than just a race, the Quadrortathon is an immersive experience in the landscape of the Cusio region. With aid stations along the route, medical assistance, daily and combined rankings, finisher medals, and the unmissable pasta party, the event combines sport and celebration in an atmosphere of great friendship among participants arriving from all over Italy and abroad. It is included in the national ultramarathon circuits and represents a sporting highlight for Gozzano and the entire Lake Orta area, in the heart of Piedmont.
The eighth edition takes place from Saturday, August 1 to Tuesday, August 4, 2026, based in Gozzano (Novara). Four days of running on Lake Orta, one marathon per day on different routes, and the possibility to choose your preferred distance every morning from three options.
Reserved for FIDAL-registered athletes born in 2006 or earlier; EPS members and RUNCARD holders are also admitted. Services: medical assistance, water stations approx. every 5 km, pasta party at the end. It is mandatory to bring your own water bottle.
Gozzano can be reached by car from the A26 motorway (Borgomanero exit) in just a few minutes. By train, the Gozzano station is on the Novara–Domodossola line, with connections from Milan and Turin.
Meeting point, start, and finish are at the Lido di Gozzano and the Via Monterosa Sports Hall. The event village opens at 7:00 AM, and all distances start at 9:00 AM.
Online registration is available on the Club Super Marathon Italia website, with the option to choose a single day or the full four-day package. A FIDAL, EPS, or RUNCARD membership is required.
Bring your own personal water bottle (cups are not provided along the route). Water stations are available approximately every 5 km.
