Summer evenings featuring folk music and Puster Valley specialties in St. Lorenzen
The Pustertaler Sommerabende (Puster Valley Summer Evenings) are a traditional summer highlight in St. Lorenzen, a municipality in the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, Trentino-South Tyrol. In the heart of the village, at the Musikpavillon on Franz-Hellweger-Platz, select summer evenings transform into an open-air festival dedicated to conviviality, music, and genuine mountain flavors.
The common thread of these evenings is authentic South Tyrolean folk music (Volksmusik): local groups and bands take turns on the pavilion stage, creating a festive and authentic atmosphere. The festivities begin around 7:00 PM, with live music starting at 8:00 PM and accompanying guests late into the night under the starry Puster Valley sky.
Food plays a central role. The farmers of St. Lorenzen and the town's rural youth (Südtiroler Bauernjugend) prepare and serve typical Puster Valley specialties: genuine dishes from the South Tyrolean farming tradition, homemade desserts, and local drinks. It is the perfect opportunity to discover the authentic flavors of the region in an informal and welcoming setting.
The Pustertaler Sommerabende offer free admission and are aimed at families, residents, and tourists vacationing in the Plan de Corones (Kronplatz) area. The event is organized by Bruneck Kronplatz Tourismus in collaboration with the local community, representing a genuine way to experience the hospitality and folk traditions of the Puster Valley during the summer season.
Located just a few kilometers from Brunico, at the foot of the Plan de Corones ski area, the Municipality of St. Lorenzen is a village of ancient origins in the Puster Valley. The summer evenings at the Musikpavillon are a permanent fixture on the local calendar and an opportunity to experience the village in a festive and convivial light.
The 2026 Pustertaler Sommerabende in St. Lorenzen are scheduled for two evenings: Wednesday, July 29 and Wednesday, August 12, 2026, from 7:00 PM until late, at the Franz-Hellweger-Platz Musikpavillon.
Live South Tyrolean folk music kicks off at 8:00 PM, accompanied by Puster Valley gastronomic specialties prepared by the town's farmers and rural youth. Admission is free. Details regarding the musical groups for each evening will be announced by the organizers closer to the event date.
