The traveling Apulian village arrives in Scandicci with street food, pizzica music, and traditional illuminations
Every year, the Piazzale della Resistenza in Scandicci, within the metropolitan area of Florence, hosts La Puglia che ti piglia - Puglia Festival, the traveling Apulian village by Tipico Eventi that tours Italy, bringing the scents, flavors, and sounds of the "heel of the boot" to every corner. For an entire weekend, the square is dressed for a celebration: trullo-shaped structures, olive trees, and the unmistakable Apulian illuminations recreate the magical atmosphere of the patronal feasts of Salento and Murgia, just a stone's throw from Florence.
The heart of the event is Apulian street food. Along the stalls, you will find the best street chefs with their on-the-road specialties, both sweet and savory, designed to satisfy every palate. There is also a selection of excellent Apulian wines and beers, cocktails, and stalls featuring typical food and wine products to purchase and take home. A comfortable dining area allows you to enjoy panzerotti, bombette, taralli, pasticciotti, and all the other delights of the regional tradition in comfort.
The Puglia Festival is not just about gastronomy. Every day, background music accompanies guests, while in the evening, live traditional music and folk dances take center stage. During the main days, there are many activities for adults and children: show cooking, live mozzarella stretching, tambourine workshops, masterclasses, and fun quizzes. It is an opportunity to discover Apulian folk culture up close, filled with pizzica, tarantella, and conviviality.
With free admission and no reservations required, the event is designed for families, groups of friends, and curious visitors of all ages. The traveling format, which visits numerous Italian squares, has made this appointment a small classic for the Municipality of Scandicci, which grants its patronage. A simple and tasty way to travel while staying just a few steps from home, immersed in the colors and flavors of Puglia in the heart of Tuscany.
From June 26 to 28, 2026, Tipico Eventi brings the beloved Puglia Festival - The Puglia That Captivates You format back to Scandicci, at Piazzale della Resistenza. For three days, the square transforms into an Apulian village, with trullo-shaped structures, olive trees, and illuminations, featuring street food from the heel of Italy, music, and traditional dances. Free admission without reservation.

By car, Scandicci is connected to Florence via the Florence-Pisa-Livorno highway (Scandicci exit) and the ring road. By tram, line T1 of the Florence tramway connects the city center to Scandicci, with a stop near the square. By train, the reference stations are those of Florence, which are well connected to the tram system.
Free admission, no reservation required. Open Friday from 6:00 PM to midnight, Saturday from 10:00 AM to midnight, and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 10:30 PM.
A large dining area is available. We recommend arriving early in the evening when the square comes alive with music and shows.
