Warm puccia, grilled meats, and pizzica in the historic center of Felline
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Puccia & Grill Festival of Sant'Antonio takes place in the historic center of Felline, a charming hamlet of the Municipality of Alliste, in the province of Lecce, in lower Salento. Tied to the celebrations of the patron saint, the event is a staple of the Salento summer: for two evenings, the streets and small squares of the ancient village fill with food stalls, outdoor tables, and folk music, set against a backdrop of stone houses and alleys that tell the story of this land's rural past.
At the center of the festivities is Lecce puccia, the traditional round bread baked in a wood-fired oven and served warm, stuffed with grilled vegetables, capocollo, cheeses, and other local ingredients. Alongside the puccia, the grill is the other major attraction: charcoal-grilled meats, skewers, sausages, bombette, and rustic side dishes prepared according to authentic Salento cuisine. Local wine and traditional desserts are also available, offering a culinary journey designed to showcase the authentic flavors of the territory.
The evenings are brought to life by the rhythms of pizzica and Salento folk music, with live concerts in the village squares. Past editions have featured folk and pizzica groups that swept the audience into dances and tarantas until late at night, accompanying the tastings with the contagious energy of Salento's musical tradition. The atmosphere is that of a classic village fair: families, children, street performers, and small markets create a shared festive spirit.
Felline is a small village in the Salento hinterland, not far from the Ionian coast and the seaside resorts of Alliste. Its historic center, with its parish church and ancient courtyards, offers the ideal setting for a festival that intertwines gastronomy, popular devotion, and conviviality. Visiting the Puccia & Grill Festival means discovering an authentic corner of Puglia, far from the most crowded tourist circuits.
The event is organized by the Felline Patronal Feast Committee with the support of the Municipality of Alliste. Admission is free: you only pay for what you consume at the food stalls. The dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been officially announced; the festival is traditionally held in August.
