Every year, between January and April, the historic theatre on Via della Costituzione presents a Prose Season that brings prominent names from Italian theatre and cinema to a relatively small town, thanks to the collaboration with the Fondazione Teatri di Pistoia.
The festival consists of a handful of evening events—generally five shows—scheduled at 9:00 PM. The programme alternates between brilliant comedies, contemporary dramas, and reinterpretations of great classics, entrusted to professional companies and performers well-known to the general public. It is a formula that has built a loyal following over the years, largely composed of season ticket holders.

Lamporecchio Prose Season — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the Prose Season at the Teatro Comunale of Lamporecchio consisted of five evening events, from January 10 to April 17, 2026, all starting at 9:00 PM. The artistic direction of the festival was managed by Saverio Barsanti, with the support of the Municipal Administration and the Fondazione Teatri di Pistoia.
The programme ranged from the reflective comedy Mi dimetto da uomo by and with Sergio Assisi, to the tribute to Paolo Villaggio by Anna Mazzamauro, passing through the drama Pazza with Vanessa Gravina, the Pirandellian adaptation Uno, nessuno e centomila, and the comedy Contrazioni pericolose with Rocío Muñoz Morales.
