When Monfalcone Opens the Sea

There is a weekend, at the beginning of June, when Monfalcone officially kicks off the summer. It is Promomare, the event that inaugurates the bathing season by transforming the coastline into a grand stage of sport, flavors, and entertainment. The event has two main hubs: Marina Julia beach during the day, and the Porticciolo Nazario Sauro in the evening.

Sport, From Water to Shore

During the day, at Marina Julia, the sea takes center stage: trials and experiences open to the public in sailing, surfing, and kiteboarding, demonstrations organized with the Italian Sailing Federation, and activities to introduce young and old to water sports. There is also a dedicated app to book sports sessions, and safety demonstrations by the Coast Guard complete a program designed to promote understanding of the sea and the right way to enjoy it.

Evening, The Village at the Little Port

As the sun sets, the heart of the celebration moves to the Porticciolo Nazario Sauro, which comes alive with a village of exhibitors, local product tastings, show cooking, live music, and DJ sets. The most spectacular moment arrives every evening with water shows featuring jet skis and flyboards, captivating the audience.

Monfalcone and its Coastline

Promoted by the Municipality of Monfalcone, the event celebrates the city's connection with the upper Adriatic. Marina Julia, with its beach and the "Delfino Verde" sea link to Trieste, Sistiana, and Duino, is the ideal starting point to discover an often-underestimated coastline, rich in nature, sports, and good food.
