The grassroots sports day hosted by the Pro Loco of Pollena Trocchia
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Proloco's Cup was launched in 2025 as a new initiative by the Pro Loco of Pollena Trocchia, a town in the Metropolitan City of Naples, Campania. The concept is simple yet effective: bringing together sport, fun, and local life in a single afternoon, giving everyone the chance to play without the need for official registrations, rankings, or competitive pressure. It is not a formal athletic event, but a community celebration built around play.
The format of the first edition, held on Sunday, September 28, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM, featured three parallel tournaments:
For each discipline, the organizers provided trophies and prize pools, with a dedicated coordinator handling registrations. This intentionally relaxed structure allows even those who do not play sports regularly to participate.
The event takes place at La Villetta, located at Via Calabrese 182 in Pollena Trocchia: an outdoor space that is equipped with playing fields and public areas for the duration of the Cup. The afternoon schedule, running until the evening, is designed for families: you can arrive whenever you like, watch, cheer, grab a bite to eat, and head home at your leisure.
As stated by the organizers, the Proloco's Cup aims to be "a moment of meeting and connection for all citizens," using sport as a tool for social well-being rather than as an end in itself. This follows the same philosophy that guides most Italian Pro Loco activities: creating occasions for the town to come together, while highlighting public spaces and the energy of volunteers. President Giovanni Di Fiore presented the first edition as "an unforgettable day of sport and fun," inviting residents to sign up or simply join as spectators.
Pollena Trocchia has just over thirteen thousand inhabitants and is located about ten kilometers east of Naples, on the northern slopes of Mount Vesuvius, within the Vesuvius National Park. It is a territory with significant archaeological history, buried by late-antique eruptions in the 5th and 6th centuries, and with an agricultural vocation still visible in its terraced fields. In such a context, events promoted by the Pro Loco have a value that goes beyond the calendar: they keep the relationship between residents and shared spaces alive.
The Proloco's Cup is designed for a broad audience:
As of the update of this guide, the Pro Loco of Pollena Trocchia has not yet released the 2026 calendar for the Proloco's Cup. The first edition took place in late September, and September remains the most likely timeframe, but dates, times, and tournament formats should be considered unconfirmed until the official announcement. Those interested in participating can follow the Pro Loco's social media channels, where registration forms and contact details are published.
At the time of this update, no official calendar has been published for the 2026 Proloco's Cup in Pollena Trocchia, in the province of Naples. The event was launched in 2025 and does not yet have a fixed annual schedule: its return depends on the Pro Loco's planning and the availability of the La Villetta venue.
If the format is repeated, it is reasonable to expect a single day in autumn featuring amateur tournaments open to all ages, just like the first edition. However, we do not publish dates or programs until they are released by the organizers: any information circulating before the official announcement should be verified.
Information regarding registration, disciplines, and times is usually released on the Pro Loco Pollena Trocchia Facebook page a few weeks before the event. This page will be updated as soon as the 2026 date is confirmed.

Tournament registrations are handled by the coordinators appointed by the Pro Loco for each discipline; for the 2025 edition, these were Giovanni Di Fiore for football, Giorgio Cesario for bocce, and Oreste De Miranda for foosball. Updated information is available on the Pro Loco Pollena Trocchia Facebook page.
Wear sneakers and sportswear if you are playing; the event is outdoors, so it is advisable to check the weather forecast. Parking is available on nearby streets: it is best to arrive a little early.
