Profumo di Zagara is the event that celebrates the most authentic soul of Mazzarrà Sant'Andrea, a small town in the Province of Messina, Sicily: nursery gardening. It is no coincidence that this village in the Mazzarrà Valley is known as the "cradle of nurseries", a vocation with roots dating back to the 18th century, when the locals began exporting plants throughout Italy and to neighboring countries. The event, held in Piazza Umberto I, weaves together the promotion of the territory with moments of popular celebration, music, and great food.

Among citrus fruits, orange blossoms, and craftsmanship

The very name of the festival evokes the intense scent of zagara, the orange blossom that has accompanied the life of this community for centuries. Local tradition specializes in the cultivation and grafting of citrus fruits of the Citrus, Poncirus, and Fortunella genera, an art that combines ingenuity and nature, passed down from generation to generation. Profumo di Zagara was created precisely to tell the story of and enhance this heritage, pairing plants with other local excellences.
