Pro Loco 2.0 Summer Program

A summer of community in Sant'Eusanio del Sangro

The Pro Loco 2.0 Summer Program is the series of events through which the Pro Loco 2.0 association enlivens Sant'Eusanio del Sangro every year. This town of just over two thousand inhabitants is located in the province of Chieti, in the heart of Abruzzo. Nestled at an altitude of 205 meters between Castel Frentano, Casoli, Guardiagrele, and Lanciano, with the Sangro River marking its southern border, the village transforms during the warmer months into a small open-air stage where squares and green spaces fill with people once again.

A diverse calendar from June to autumn

The program is not just a single festival but a full calendar of events spread throughout the beautiful season, often continuing into the autumn months. The formula developed by Pro Loco 2.0 alternates moments designed for children and families with others aimed at young people and those simply looking to gather in the square after sunset.

• Traditional Games — afternoons and evenings dedicated to classic games, held between Parco Samuele and the town squares, featuring teams, tournaments, and challenges for both adults and children.
• Local Talent Nights — events that provide a stage for the town's artists and rising stars, from music to dance, in a shared festive spirit.
• Summer Festival — the highlight of the series, hosted at Parco Samuele, which either kicks off or concludes the summer season with music, stalls, and socializing.
• Themed Parties — special themed evenings, such as the famous celebrations dedicated to international folklore that have added color to the town over the years.

The heart of village life

Most events take place in the town's iconic spots: Parco Samuele, an ideal green space for outdoor evenings, and Piazza Cesare De Titta (the historic core once known as Monteclo), where summer social life centers around musical performances and dance nights. The program also revolves around local identity and traditions, in a town that boasts a cultural heritage linked to the poet and Latin scholar Cesare De Titta, the Serranella WWF Oasis, and the Frentan history of the Sangro-Aventino valley.

A Pro Loco 2.0 project

Behind the series is the Pro Loco 2.0 Sant'Eusanio del Sangro, an association committed to growth, innovation, and active engagement to keep the town vibrant with events and initiatives. Through its social media channels, the association announces the full calendar year by year, which often extends beyond summer into autumn festivals and Christmas events, such as the town's nativity scene.
