About Primula March

The Marcia delle Primule is the historic non-competitive running walk in Magrè di Schio, in the province of Vicenza. Now in its fifty-third edition, it offers routes of 4, 6, 14, and 19 km along the plain roads and hilly paths of Monte Magrè, starting from Via Asolo and finishing at the Circolo Cattolico in Via S. Leonzio. An FIASP-IVV certified event, open to everyone, runners and families, organized by the Parish of Magrè.

The march that announces spring

The Primula March is one of the longest-running running events in the Alto Vicentino area: a non-competitive walk that every year, at the beginning of March, attracts hundreds of participants to the hamlet of Magrè di Schio, in the province of Vicenza. The name refers to primroses, the first flowers that announce spring, and the march is, in fact, the event that opens the amateur running season in the area.

The routes

The event offers four routes of varying difficulty:

  • 4 km — entirely on flat roads, also accessible to strollers and wheelchairs
  • 6 km — suitable for everyone, between plains and first climbs
  • 14 km — on paths and mule tracks immersed in greenery, up to the hamlet of Monte Magrè
  • 19 km — the most challenging, towards the hills of Passo Zovo and Raga Alta

The start is from Via Asolo (Magrè cemetery parking) and the finish at the Circolo Cattolico in Via S. Leonzio. The march is organized by the Associazione Marcia delle Primule together with the Parish of Magrè di Schio, and is FIASP-IVV certified.
