About Carpaneda Ecofestival
A festival in the urban forest
The Carpaneda Ecofestival was born in the urban forest of Carpaneda, west of Vicenza, as a crossroads of stories converging between city and countryside. Promoted by La Piccionaia — Centro di Produzione Teatrale with the support of the Gabaldo Foundation and a wide network of cultural and environmental organizations in the area, it intertwines agro-ecological practices and performance languages.
Agro-ecology and performing arts
The program combines two souls: on one hand, workshops on gardening, ecosomatics, and green care, round tables, and participatory assemblies on environmental issues; on the other, theatrical performances set in the woods, short film screenings, critical walks, and a farmers' market. An intertwining that makes the festival an open-air collective laboratory.
Community, environment, and participation
Part of the "Terrestri d'estate" (Summer Landers) review by Teatro Astra, the Carpaneda Ecofestival involves families, neighborhood residents, and the city's public in an experience that centers on participation and care for the territory. A few kilometers from the center of Vicenza, the forest becomes a stage and an open-air classroom for a few days, dedicated to the relationship between community and nature.
Carpaneda Ecofestival — edition 2026
The fourth edition of the Carpaneda Ecofestival returns from September 11 to 13, 2026, in the urban forest of Carpaneda, west of Vicenza. The project combines agro-ecological practices and performance languages, with workshops, shows in the woods, round tables, participatory assemblies, a farmers' market, and film screenings.
The 2026 edition is one of the five main events of "Terrestri d'estate 2026", the Teatro Astra's review that crosses the city with contemporary theater, family programs, and the "Silent Play" itinerant headphone shows.

Carpaneda Ecofestival 2026 — September 11/13, Carpaneda Forest
Three days of agro-ecology and performing arts in the urban forest of Vicenza. The usual festival structure includes:
- Workshops for children and adults: gardening, ecosomatics, green care
- Theatrical performances set in the woods and short film screenings
- Round tables and participatory assemblies on environmental and community issues
- Farmers' market and critical walks in the area

How to get there
The Carpaneda forest is located in the western area of Vicenza, reachable by car and bicycle. Activities take place mainly outdoors: clothing and footwear suitable for the forest are recommended.
