The spring chamber music festival of the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena
Primavera Chigiana is the festival that, every year between May and June, transforms the Salone dei Concerti of Palazzo Chigi Saracini into one of the most enchanting venues for chamber music in Italy. Promoted by the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in the historic center of Siena, in the heart of Tuscany, the event complements the Academy's major international summer festival with a more intimate spring season, built around a dialogue between great masters and young talents.
Each edition features about fifteen concerts ranging from classical and baroque repertoire to contemporary premieres. The festival was born in synergy with the Chigiana Global Academy Programs (C-GAP) and the Film Scoring Intensive Program dedicated to film music, thus offering a space where high-level training meets public programming. Pianists, violinists, chamber ensembles, and performers of early instruments take turns on stage, accompanied by lecture-concerts and special events that bring the audience closer to the behind-the-scenes of musical interpretation.
The heart of the festival is Palazzo Chigi Saracini, a historic residence on Via di Città that houses the Academy's headquarters and its famous Salone dei Concerti, adorned with frescoes and rich in works of art. The palace's central location, just a few steps from Piazza del Campo, makes every evening an opportunity to experience the most authentic side of Siena. Some events may take place in other symbolic locations of the city and, in collaboration with international institutions, even beyond the city limits.
For the city of Siena and the entire Tuscany region, Primavera Chigiana represents a prestigious event that confirms the musical vocation of a territory already famous worldwide for its artistic and cultural heritage.
The sixth edition of Primavera Chigiana, scheduled in Siena from May 12 to June 27, 2026, combines artistic excellence, international openness, training, and experimentation. Fourteen chamber music concerts plus a special event dedicated to film music enliven the Salone dei Concerti of Palazzo Chigi Saracini and other iconic city locations. The festival also strengthens the historic musical bond between Siena and Avignon thanks to the collaboration with Musique Baroque en Avignon.

Standard ticket 25 euros, reduced 20 euros, students 5 euros. Concerts in the "Chigiana Factor" section are priced at 5 euros. Ticket office at Palazzo Chigi Saracini, tel. +39 0577 220922, e-mail [email protected].
Book in advance for concerts by major international names, which are often in high demand. Siena offers numerous accommodation options in the historic center and the immediate vicinity, ideal for combining your festival evening with a visit to the city.
