The patronal festival of Cogollo del Cengio, featuring a food stand and music
The Prezioso Festival is the village festival of Cogollo del Cengio, a municipality in the province of Vicenza nestled along the Astico valley, at the gateway to the Seven Municipalities Plateau. The festival takes place in Piazza della Libertà and the streets of the center, around the parish church of San Cristoforo on Via Angelo Dal Zotto, and represents one of the most anticipated moments of the Cogollo summer.
The heart of the festival is the food stand, with traditional Venetian and Vicenza dishes: gnocchi, bigoli, grilled meats, tripe, coradele, the famous panini onti, pork knuckle, and craft beers. In recent years, the Pro Loco has introduced new specialties such as the pasticcio cogollese (Cogollo pie), made with speck, Asiago cheese, and mushrooms, which has quickly become a small symbol of the festival.
The evenings are accompanied by live music, from concerts by the Town Band to performances by local artists, up to DJ sets that have attracted a younger audience, contributing to the event's revival.
The festival maintains its connection to the religious dimension through the Mass of the Prezioso and community moments involving the parish. Organized by the Pro Loco of Cogollo del Cengio, the festival is entirely animated by the village's volunteers, uniting different generations around food and music.
The Prezioso Festival returns to Cogollo del Cengio in July 2026, following its traditional placement in the second week of the month (July 11-14 in 2024, July 10-14 in 2025). The festival takes place in Piazza della Libertà and offers the now-established five evenings of food stands, music, and entertainment.
For 2026, the Pro Loco of Cogollo del Cengio confirms the formula that has revived the festival: traditional Vicenza dishes, the pasticcio cogollese, live concerts, and DJ sets for the younger audience.
The detailed schedule and precise dates for the 2026 edition will be announced by the Pro Loco of Cogollo del Cengio on the Facebook page pro.cogollo in the weeks preceding the festival.
The usual structure of the festival includes the opening of the food stand every evening from 6:00 PM-7:00 PM, followed by live concerts and DJ sets, with the Mass of the Prezioso and community moments on the central day.
